Samsung Throws PC Gamers a Curved LED Monitor

Maximum PC: Display makers have been trying to sell consumers on the benefits of curved panels, hence why there are a handful of curvacious TV models to choose from. That same concept is now being applied to computer monitors -- Samsung today unveiled the SD590C, a curved monitor with a "super narrow bezel", built-in stereo speakers, and a specialized mode optimized for gaming.

eh, Me personally I would have preferred atleast 1440p. Especially when linking 2-3 together.

That would've changed the price though.

Take a regular LED Monitor and press it in the middle, just like iPhone 6 Plus.

Warning: Only works with an IMac!

60hz
4ms response time
$430

lol no thanks

HeWhoWalks3510d ago (Edited 3510d ago )

I was interested until I saw the response time and refresh rate. No 120Hz, no 2ms response time (at the highest) = no buy!

Great for those really wanting a new monitor, however!

another one bites the dust. When will these companies learn gaming isn't that easy to break into.

crazyCoconuts122d ago

but this one has such a catchy logo /s

DOMination-122d ago

Seems a bit harsh. It's just an accessory for their app on smart tvs and monitors. Maybe Samsung have bigger plans down the line but I don't think anyone is expecting this product to change the world, Samsung included.

darthv72122d ago

There is no dust to bite... this isnt like stadia. This is for playing games either from the mobile store or xcloud or geforce now through the smart tv. Like playing on your phone or tablet only a much much bigger screen.

Vits122d ago (Edited 122d ago )

Too expensive for what it is.

shinoff2183122d ago

40 hours sounds pretty damn incredible

Phoenix76122d ago

Maybe 40hrs when in stand by mode

2027: MS stops making Xbox consoles
2029: Samsung starts making Xbox consoles

j/k

NotoriousWhiz122d ago

You kid, but when Microsoft leaves, expect someone else to enter. Maybe Amazon. Maybe Netflix.

QuantumMechanic121d ago

Samsung is in bed with MS and shows latent interest in the gaming market. They are also a hardware manufacturer. It seems totally reasonable that Samsung is in a prime position to take over the Xbox hardware properties should MS bow out of the market.
