Whoa now, seems wayyy harsh from what I've seen, but I'll wait, and see how the rest of the reviews go from sites I've actually heard of. Either way I was only expecting this to be a rental, but I still hope it turned out good just because some of the promises the devs made were quite ambitious.

I've played it and from what I've read in previous reviews I expected it to be crap really. At worst it's definately a 7-8. The graphics are a solid 8-9, it looks fantastic. Controls are a bit awkward at first(kinda like Silent Hill) but they don't ruin the game in any sense.

I really can't see how they can say that it feels old. That's what amazed me, how many parts of the game that feel fresh. The intro of the game is one of the coolest I've ever seen. It keeps on impressing you. What they pull off graphically is hard to believe. The settings you find yourself in are unlike what I've seen in any other game. It captured me instantly.

I could go on and on. All I have to say is that if you are a fan of horror/adventure games you would not want to miss out on this.

I used to follow the swedish Gamereactor site and they have a tendency to give games weird scores sometimes. But I really can't see how you can award this game a 3.

Btw, I played the 360 version.

All the snapshots and boxart are 360.

You can tell from the buttons and whatnot...I don't see why they'd review the Wii, PS2, PC version and show 360 shots.

I don't think they can review the PS3 version either, because it's like way behind and isn't finished.

Man, I had high hopes for this game :(

Yea those trailers were very suspect, the controls looked extremely lumpy and just plain yuk for the rest of everything, i had expected 6 or 7/10 but it seems its worse than we thought :/

WTTFF!!!!! 3/10?! theres just no way thats possible. with that score it have to be comparable to badboys 2: miami take down. from all the videos ive seen it looks like a low 80 at most.

They reviewed the Xbox 360 version.
The game also scored 4 out of 5 in their beta test a while ago, so this has nothing to do with hating the game.

They are not biased either check out the past scores they gave.

If you disagree with this score then you might as well disagree with the high scores they gave to Gears, MGS4, Halo3, Uncharted, etc...

Most of you took them seriously when they gave high scores to those games, why not now?

I agree that some Haze reviews were unfair as well, bashing it more than it deserved. It's a solid FPS, nothing spectacular but certainly not as awful as some tried to make it look.

LOL at the PS3 fanboys saying its the 360 version as if the PS3 version has a chance to score higher.

The game was so ambitious it looked like it ran like sh*t like there wasn't enough Ram to smoothly run some of the very advanced visual(s)/effects and animations etc.

Atari was already in finacial trouble and this may be that nail in the coffin. I hate to see this once giant fall like this, I was hoping they would pull out a last mimute victroy with this game. Only thing Atari can hope for now is a buyout and not bankruptcy.

This game is actually pretty damn cool! Sure, it has some negative sides that don't make it thé perfect game, but giving it a 3.. then you really don't understand anything about games.

Give it a try and don't take this too seriously.

I played it for a few minutes last night, it was a game i was really looking forward to playing. I have to say i was shocked when i saw that review it seemed like a good game, it ain't perfect but my god a 3/10. I am going to give it a good play through tonight. Btw finished Bourne conspiracy in one sitting last night. It is extremely short a little over 4 hours. Its definitely a game to rent.

From what i`ve seen of Alone in the Dark , there`s no way in hell it can be a 3/10 game. I realize this may sound stupid since i havn`t played it myself, but i just can`t believe this would score so low. A 4 in graphics ? No way.

Guess it shows why i don`t have much faith in norwegian reviewers. Everything else in Norway is perfect though ;)I would wait for more reviews or even better, play the game for myself, before concluding how good or bad it is to be playing Alone in the Dark.

Yikes, Atari might be in more trouble if this is a typical score, although 3 sounds super low. I don't imagine scores will come in that low.

This is what happens when a product is lead developed on XBox 360. Thanks to Microsoft's garbage console, a critically acclaimed series such as Alone in the Dark has been butchered beyond belief.

Seeing that the PLAYSTATION®3 version has been delayed, it's easily understood. The game will definately be leaps and bounds better than the XBox 360 version due to it's superior hardware.

Considering that the 360 and the PC were the lead platforms and the PS3 version isn't even done yet thats like saying the UTIII for the PS3 did so bad because the 360 version held it back or that Burnout didn't sell well because the 360 held it back.
