When Bungie, the developers of Destiny, said the game would be the next big thing, they meant they were taking the bits they loved from other games and slammed them together into one big pulsing mass. Along the way, they made some odd and sometimes baffling choices. However, all of these choices very much seem deliberate and this strange amalgamation is exactly the game Bungie wanted to make.
