Unless you're a collector/enthusiast, I see no point of buying this since the "New" 3DS consoles are just around the corner.

Sadly, you should have revealed this BEFORE revealing new 3DS hardware. Why would I knowingly purchase an inferior product (that most who are interested probably already have) as opposed to something that is going to be released in the near future that I know is more powerful?

I'm going to go with No. The Super 3DS is right around the corner but I'll admit the system looks great so if it wasn't for the S3DS I would say yes.
