Forbes: Destiny is upon us and with it, the fall video game season. Activision and Bungie have released their game much earlier than the rest of the heavy-hitters, and that decision has handed them the undivided attention of the video gaming community: the servers are a little jittery, but so far, they’re holding. I’ve been playing this game since press servers came online yesterday — I’ve slaughtered my fair share of aliens, robots, and even one or two other players. So far, so good: I’m itching to keep pushing my level 12 hunter to the level cap. Day one of Destiny has driven towards Day two of Destiny, which is a good sign.
Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.
