Microsoft Japan CEO Yasuyuki Higuchi has said that he has strong faith that gamers will line up around the block to get their hands on the next-gen console. When an interviewer from NHK asked about the disappointing launch, Higuchi was confused and misinterpreted the question. “Of course sales will be slow when the console is not available for sale,” said Higuchi, “When the console is finally released, the entire country will be aware that the Xbox One has arrived. I believe you are referring to the low pre-order numbers. And we are fine with that because that simply means there will be more Xbox Ones available to the people who chose not to pre-order.” The interviewer then clarified that the Xbox One was in fact released in Japan on September 4th to very little fanfare. Higuchi then took offense and stated that he does not appreciate being mocked. (Satire)
