Clarkey’s thoughts on Apple’s Keynote
Hundreds of bloggers, writers and journalists descended upon Cupertino, CA, today for Apple’s latest “special event”, as CEO Tim Cook took centre stage to reveal the company’s newest gadgetry. As usual for any Apple events, speculation was rife for a couple of months before today as many geared up for the release of the new iPhone and perhaps Apple’s newest product, a ‘smartwatch’ rumoured to be titled the “iWatch”. How original. How inventive. Unusually for Apple keynotes, however, Tim decided to bypass the traditional updates on sales, stores and software downloads – there was just too much to get through according to Cook, who took over as CEO in August 2011 after the resignation of Steve Jobs.
