Jim Rossignol reports:
''Egad, the Massive Multiplayer Online Real Time Strategy games are coming! First there was Saga, which we long-ago decided was a bit flimsy and without the detail, colour, or bombast to really grip us. (Contemporary experience may differ.) Now two more strategies claiming to be "massive" have appeared on the RPS radar, and they looking quite different in both tone and execution.''
SaGa series creator Akitoshi Kawazu briefly discussed a new entry in the SaGa series on Twitter today. “The next one will also have multiple protagonists,” Kawazu said in response to a tweet asking for the next game not to have several main characters.
Square Enix have been sharing more about the SaGa series this year for its 25th anniversary, and creator Akitoshi Kawazu had a little more to share in this week’s special edition of Dengeki PlayStation.
“We’re in the middle of developing a new SaGa game,” Kawazu told Dengeki as for what he’s been up to lately. “I believe we’ll get to announce more information [soon].”
There’s been a lot of events for the SaGa series so far this year in celebration of its anniversary, like the special event with themed foods and porcelain plates by illustrator Tomomoi Kobayashi as part of their collaboration with Saga Prefecture of Japan.
Earlier this summer, Kawazu stated revealed that they’re working on a new title, and things are advancing steadily. There’s going to be a NicoNico Livestream for the SaGa 25th anniversary on December 14 as well, so we might hear more about the new game then.
Japanese company doesn’t say how many jobs it cut in U.S. operations.
good lucks to those who have been laid off, hopefully they will end up with some good job opportunities.
Dang, hope they get hired by another company then.
This doesn't really look very good for gaming, Sega bought Atlus which is sort of good but then.. Sega is closing Kazuya sites outside of Japan.
& now they're laying off staff in America.
I hope it doesn't mean we get less Japanese games from Atlus, etc.
