Square Enix are currently looking to recruit staff who will be part of the core members for a new studio that will focus on RPGs for consoles. Inside Games shares more details about the recruitment page that was recently put up by Square Enix.
Final Fantasy Tactics Remastered‘s announcement was a welcome surprise to many, older fans along with the younger generation would be able to experience the epic PS1 game again with some new things that would improve the experience such as voice acting.
This is really stupid and just baffling, the explanation for it is also a big non answer, very disappointing.
Square Enix has really gone down the drain. Even FF7: Rebirth, while being an incredible acheivment seemed very sloppy in some areas... namely performance. These folks wonder why their games don't sell but aren't putting in a decent effort.
They seem to be suggesting that people didn't like the new stuff in WotL, hence it's non-inclusion, but they're probably secretly planning to add it as DLC down the line, they just don't want to tell people that because they think it'll get an even worse reaction. When they do eventually add it, they'll be like, "We listened". Of course, it won't be free though, so they'll still get flak for it. On the other hand, maybe I'm too cynical.
With the release of the v36.10 mode on June 18, Fortnite removed an iconic mode.
The new Diablo 4 Reliquary battle pass system is so scummy that players are sending Blizzard more money due to accidental miss-clicks.
Switching the screens and buttons? Nah. Some person wanted to look good to someone higher up. Demonstrating how many people buy the content will demonstrate it. Even if they have to reverse it later. Totally scummy.
It’s like a car dealership selling extended warranty in a scummy way. Even if they have to refund them later, it will technically show somewhere that they sold it and make them look good for something.
I can't believe this game came out 2 years ago already. I uninstalled it 1 year & 10 months ago.
I really enjoyed Diablo 4, but the cost of skins and various content are absurd and kind of insulting. I think like outfits were $20, I heard the Berserk stuff is ways more expensive. It’s just nuts that this is the direction they want to go in. I feel like you’d do better n sales making these like $1-$5, but what do I know?
Diablo 4 is basically a well produced mobile game. I dropped it after the first battlepass and never played again. Lost Epoch scratches the Arpg itch just as well.
Sony needs to build a studio that will do that too! the PS3 didn't start getting RPGs till well into its 5th - 8th year.
This gen needs to have major JRPGs from the onset for both PS4 and XBO.
Good to see Square forming new studio just to handle Console RPGs... Its time for them to get back to basics
Funny. Wasn't SE established to do just that? SE, consider this an open letter -- a short one at that: Just create an amazing JRPG and you're back to business. Sure, you can make it revolutionary, playful, or what have you. Just don't create a JRPG with the West in mind; otherwise, your game gets stuck between W and J + RPG.
SE, wanna know why Persona is higher than FFXV in the latest Japanese poll for the 10 most anticipated JRPGs? Because 1) It's a good combination of new and traditional, and 2) IT'S A GOOD GAME!
On the side note: If Bravely Default gets a console release, I'd buy it. But wasn't BD created by a dev that's not SE?
Shamelessly stolen from neogaf...
Now they can finally start development of FFXV
I'd really like some sequels or new installments from Square that are based on the Playstation classics.

This is the kind of support the Playstation 4 needs. Hell, i'd be content with just a Legend of Dragoon sequel.
They need a White Knights Chronicles type rpg that you can play with peeps online. Hell, make a rpg action game that you can go online and level and find loot!
Toukiden is an awesome type game like this. But let it go into serious detail like WKC.
