The motherboard makers have spoken, and like a collective fortune cookie, they have predicted that Intel's launch of Core 2 Quad Q8000 CPU series is just around the next corner. Expect change, but not from a vending machine...

News for the cheap.
Intel Xeon FTMFW.
like Intel took a step backwards. Why go for this when you can have the Q6600 at a higher speed?
The Q8x00s will run on the 45nm fabrication making them cheaper and cooler running.
the benchmark numbers for the Q6700 are wayyyy better than the Q6600. id much rather go with the 6700 if i were getting a 65nm chipset. as for the 45nm chipset they are referring to, there are many other factors that go into it. i do believe the L2 cache is higher on the newer chips which does help greatly. somebody please correct me if im wrong though.
Q6600 is a good quad core processor to go with, its cheap and it can be overclocked easily to over 3GHz.
