I'm sorry, but EA has a long list of bad business practices and screwing the customer. They have to do way more than delay two games before we can say they are learning anything.

TheTowelBoy3622d ago

Exactly. They're playing release date chess with other big releases.. that is all.

ExposingLames3622d ago

@ towelboy

EXACTLY! that is exactly what is happening. just wanted to get in on a slower time to release. They don't care about gamers aside from milking their wallets. And people still buy the crappy broken Battlefields so why would they stop anyways?

UltraNova3622d ago (Edited 3622d ago )

I believe this time they chose to delay a broken game and fix it rather than face the consumer backlash a second time in a row, that would be devastating to their already tared reputation and pretty much be crushed by rival Activision.

I dont think they would otherwise have given Activation (COD) a no competition card for free like that, no way! If COD sells 12+ mil copies when released very closely with Battlefield, how many units will they sell now?

The way I see it given Activison will go at it solo this holiday (when it comes to FPS), Destiny will sell 15-20 mi copies and COD around 15 mil copies.

In a way Activision really owns mainstream gaming now since EA messed up badly recently and effectively forced their selves out of the race...Sad but true.

Retroman3622d ago (Edited 3622d ago )

I'll believe it when EA stop making NFS with alldrive, autolog crap, stop trying to make it burnout clone drifting around every fking corner. return nfs back to it's glory days.

no more open world racing . back to what made nfs stand out from all other racing games. "closed circuit- 2 player offline chanllenge" race, drag race, sprint challenge race . full customization etc..... nfs need to compete with Driveclub, Project cars graphics wise.

THamm3622d ago (Edited 3622d ago )

No telling how many times we heard this before...

Starbucks_Fan3622d ago

DLC is there biggest problem imo. They really need to work on that.

XiSasukeUchiha3622d ago (Edited 3622d ago )

EA you're the Danzo of the gaming industry, it's going to be hard for you guys to get rid of your shady practices but good luck.

sloth33953622d ago

you know Danzo did a lot of shady things for the good of the village

Snookies123622d ago (Edited 3622d ago )

Doesn't make him any less of an A-hole that ruined a bunch of lives, lol...

eyeDEVOUR3622d ago

And EA is doing good for its own village..thats all

sloth33953622d ago

@eyeDEVOUR if anything EA is like the Uchiha clan doing bad things for its own good and it caused them to be destroyed

ShaqSoda3622d ago (Edited 3622d ago )

PROVE it to us EA. Show us you actually care about us, stop with the ridiculous unsuccessful game launches, over-priced dlc, and buggy games.

WilliamUsher3622d ago

lol... no, they haven't learned yet. The Sims 4 is proof they haven't learned.

dcj05243622d ago

What's wrong with the Sims 4? It looks great!

WilliamUsher3622d ago

Removed content so they can sell it back to you later (essentially the same thing as disc-locked content, only it's not on the disc)

Subscription-based premium model in order to get the "full game", just like with Battlefield 4.

Smaller play areas so they can section off and sell new areas to you at a later date.

No, EA hasn't learned their lesson... they're still same 'ole EA.

EA Hiring Ex-Military Personnel to Help Build Next Battlefield Game via "Hiring Our Heroes" Program

EA has hired ex-military personnel in order to help shape the next Battlefield game as part of the Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) program.

OtterX7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

Why don't you Hire Your Old Dev Team who brought us the brilliance of Battlefield Bad Company 2 while you're at it. It was more exciting than anything recent in the Battlefield series. It just needs to be updated to reach modern times, but it was so great at its core.

just_looken7d ago

This would be nice but that team has tossed out the finals and has arc raiders on the back burner
https://www.pcgamer.com/ex-...

20 thousand still play the final's
https://steamcharts.com/app...

Why get slapped around by ea when you already have something going on.

What the next battlefield needs is a step back simple functional not a live service and smaller player servers than 2042. Just make it like battlefiled 3 with bad company destruction just something simple

But they already killed off ridgeline games that had ex halo/cod devs so no singleplayer unless they make another dev team for it.

It's what made zipper and slant six awesome. They had military vets working for them, no just as consultants, but as developers as well. I wish Sony never closed them, MAG 2 or an update to MAG and a new socom is much needed.

just_looken6d ago

Older ps3 battlefield titles did the same even went to the range to get sound files.

But all these titles we are talking about were on the ps3 a console so powerful it offered free mp and games did not need 4 levels of payment plans even more crazy was the player size of mag's games.

TheColbertinator6d ago

A return to the golden age of Battlefield seems so far away now

Str8Chaos746d ago

Sadly I think you are correct. They just don’t get it. They will do their live service game with its Battle Royale and fail at both.I hate being so negative, but I have little faith in EA at this point.

There are no "thoughtful" ads in video games, EA

There are no thoughtful ads in Video Games, EA. Leave them be.

I think the only type of games that can gets away with it would be sport games, having those sponsors ads on the side like on real life.

But don't put freaking Doritos ads in Star Wars or something, it breaks the immersion. If it is a pop-up ads, then big no.

Hofstaderman35d ago

EA can thoughtfully eff themselves.

Makersbreath235d ago

EA coming back for the crown of being perceived as the worst company in gaming.

Chocoburger35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

One of my favorite series is the THPS franchise, and it was packed with ads, but it didn't bother me. Posters for skateboard companies, JEEP, and Nokia phones. It did sort of fit in with the game world, but that was the past, these days ad would be intentionally intrusive or unskippable loading screen type of imagery. Ugh, I know EA would do it in a horrible fashion. Screw them.

Report: Sexual Misconduct Investigation Conducted at EA, Suspects Named and What They Did Revealed

EA senior staff has been investigated for sexual misconduct involving female coworkers, and these said people have been named publicly.

isarai41d ago

Aye just call Phil, i mean he somehow made Bobby Kotick's scandal disappear and gave him a few million dollar high five on the way out.

Cacabunga41d ago

I wonder if it will be censored with some in game ads.

MrBaskerville39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

Microsoft did, Phil Spencer played a minor part. He instigated the buyout that led to Kotick escaping all his controversies while getting a golden handshake.

Someone on Twitter calculated that the people hired in Tango and Arkane Austin could get a decent salary for roughly 17 years for the money Kotick was paid.

InUrFoxHole38d ago

Yeah some thing tells me Kotics $ was already guaranteed before MS made the deal. As for the studios... Let's be honest here... none of those studios made system sellers.

XiNatsuDragnel41d ago (Edited 41d ago )

EA about to go down like Activision and then Phil saves the day saying.this is good for the industry and consolidation will help create competition. /s.

MrBaskerville39d ago

Then they shutdown Codemasters and studio behind Jedi Survivor.

Atleast they could hardly do much damage that EA hadn't allready done. EA has shut down most of their studios by now.

ravens5241d ago

What's up with all these horny creeps. You gon be horny, fine. Just not at work take care of that shit before you go in. Rub one out if you have to. Don't be a creep at all. ESPECIALLY at work. But don't be one AT ALL.

Extermin8or3_41d ago

I mean part of the issue is that things transpired outside of work....

MrBaskerville39d ago

That's the thing he mentioned about not being a creep at all.

KwietStorm_BLM41d ago

You think deviants care where they are? Work sometimes makes it an even better situation for them because they can abuse their power.

mudakoshaka40d ago

Nerds think they are Gods when they are making video games.

NotoriousWhiz41d ago (Edited 41d ago )

"it seems that according to EA, given the events transpired outside of work between two adults, and the fact that once investigation has started that the alleged perpetrators didn’t do it again, the investigation is considered closed. [...] The victim still has to work with the people that harassed her."

Yep, EA is disgusting.

Extermin8or3_41d ago

I mean the fact stuff happened outside of work puts EA in quite a difficult position legally. These women don't seem to have reported the matter to the police which kinda ties EA's hands on what they can do. If they don't file reports of the crimes then yeah from EA's perspective it is stuff that happened outside of work. The only exception is the guy that apparently referenced things in the slack channel for work, spending on what he said proving it may be very hard and he may well be able to get away with plausible deniability. I don't like EA and I think these people need to be dismissed but without any legal action being taken, EA can't really do much without risk of being sued themselves for unfair dismissal etc.
