It should be obvious now just how much the RRoD fiasco inflated Microsoft's installed base numbers last gen with the Xbox 360. The Xbox One is looking like it is destined for first Xbox installed base numbers. Maybe slightly higher if Microsoft doesn't kill off the console early.

The worrisome thing for X1 is much of June's sales just had to have been hold-outs from May after the price cut was announced.

If MS couldn't win this month, then I don't even know what July is going to look like when X1 doesn't have a portion of the previous month's sales to bolster its numbers.

X1 might be screwed at least until the Halo MCC comes or good holiday deals / sales. But the problem with that it, Sony has great titles coming also and will have good holiday deals too.

No games came out for xb1 in June. Selling a kinect less xb1 wasn't going to change momentum to Microsoft. If Halo doesn't do it for Microsoft i don't know what will.

I have lot of friends still on 360 and they're waiting for next Gears of War and halo. They couldn't be bothered getting an xb1 till then. x box fans are happy with the 360 and its an issue for Microsoft unfortunately.

Here's some simple math:

360 = 84 Million units
Xbox One = 5 Million units

PS3 = 80 Million units
Xbox One = 5 Million units.

So of course the game released on the console with a larger install base is going to sell more. Let's also not forget that 360 outsold PS3 for 32 months straight in the US, which means it has a very large instal base in that region. Spin busted!

Now for you impartial gamers here's a way to spot the paid shills and fanboy drones, visit neoGAF's NPD topic and look for people repeating the same thing over and over again. One "running theme" is the spin about the Watch Dogs Skus and Call of Duty.

not sure what 360 outselling xb1 indicates , maybe that ps3 owners are upgrading at a faster rate to ps4 than 360 owners are upgrading to xb1 , but there isn't really enough information to draw any conclusions .

On a side note, its easy to see why MS didn't quote exact numbers for their hardware sales. This situation is embarrassing for them. But it's very strange and quite suspicious that Sony didn't show exact numbers when they're obviously in first place this month. Want to know the reason why?

I'll repeat my original point because you obviously missed it.

This first part was the obvious irrefutable logic.

This second part is the spin being pushed on NeoGAF and by many users on this site.

And since no one asked why Sony didn't post exact numbers I'll just tell you flat out. They're much lower than expected for a console that should be saving a soon to be bankrupt electronics company. We all know the gaming division of sony lost money last quarter. And their first profitable quarter in years came in December 2013 after several consecutive years of losses for the gaming division. PS4 is not going to save the sinking ship with these numbers.

Xbox One is also a disaster for MS. They should have easily come in first after winning E3 and dropping their price $100. Both of these companies are totally screwed!

Now ask me why absolutely no one is mentioning Vita sales. Come on, I'll give you a hint.

Oh and too bad Medman, your link shows dated numbers for the Xbox 360 which came before their public announcement of 84 million units sold. And while Statista is just an estimate site like vgchartz (LMAO), the links I posted come direct from Sony itself or are linked directly back to Microsoft.

It's not surprising Sony will win every month this year. They have the momentum, Microsoft will continue to play catch up. The internet is a powerful tool of influence and right now it's great to hate Microsoft it's not one console is better than the other Sony has good PR that made them the champion for gamers everywhere.

June 2014 - WiiU - 140,000

Wii U hardware sales are up by over 223 percent compared to last June.

These numbers are directly from nintendo no VGC hyped up numbers.
