HITC writes: Over the past few years we have seen several Classic HD remakes such as; the Tomb Raider Trilogy; Ratchet and Clank Trilogy; Jak and Daxter trilogy; Metal Gear Solid; Final Fantasy - and even Doom HD remakes which have been absolutely incredible to re-experience in high definition. In the gaming world, new games are incredibly exciting, but being able to re-experience the best games of a previous and very nostalgic generation is something everybody enjoys to do.
Here are some games we would love to see join the list of HD remakes.
Ibrahim from eXputer: "The Medal of Honor franchise was once the crown jewel of FPS war games, later defeated by the tides of time and poor development."
They tried to turn it into Call of Duty and it killed it off. They should reboot it and go back to it's roots. But they'd ruin it with online-only/multiplayer style bullshit so why bother? I have very fond memories of these games, but this series can stay dead as far as I'm concerned.
Was literally just thinking of this game the other week with the secret nut cracker mission and the shooting Bismarck dog lmao. Loved these games as a kid
I have fond memories of playing the Medal of Honor Breakthrough MP Demo. It had two maps and custom servers. Living on campus, I had it downloaded on one of the PC Lab servers so I could access it on any computer at the university. Joined a clan and made friends that I still keep in touch with today.
Hanzala from eXputer: "On this joyous 8th anniversary of the Ratchet and Clank reboot, it's about time Sony considers reviving the originals to complete the saga."
It's not the ideal situation but Sony does offer them on ps plus. I to would just like a big ass compilation on doscto though
Insomniac roadmap leaked a while ago and they are making another, they’re doing the best they can and these games, especially the last two, are master pieces
VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."
3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them
2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.
God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best
Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...
5, 3, 1, 4, 2.
I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.
But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me
Tony Hawk Pro Skater
Dark cloud
Suikoden II-V collection
I still want to see another Freedom Fighters, dammit. I'd rather get a sequel instead of an HD remake but I'd probably buy a remake too.
I'm sick of all the HD overhaul crap. How about full-on reboots for some of the IPs you're sitting on, Sony? I'd love a reboot..or even a sequel...to Primal. And a follow-up to Drakan: The Ancients' Gates is WAAAAAY overdue. I love the direction the Tomb Raider franchise is headed now, and I think Sony should be using that as a template, rather than the quick-n-dirty HD ports.
I would love to see a HD Collection for all three PS2 GTA games. There is big demand for a collection like that though i would imagine that the biggest reason Rockstar have yet to do it was because of licensing of the music. That is a lot of music (and a lot money) to re-license all the music from all three of those games. The cost clearly outstrips the demand.
