Sheltered is a upcoming post-apocalyptic family survival sim that looks amazing. The good news is, the game, by UK Studio Unicube, has been funded by Kickstarter. Now for the nail biting part. The game could be slated for the PS4 next year, and possibly the Xbox One, and with four days to go, it's only just over $3000 away from that being a possibility.
Shaun writes: I’ll start by saying I’m a terrible father. That’s how Sheltered made me feel. On starting the game you’re given the choice on the make up of your family and I decided to pretty much base it on my own, though I did gift myself an extra child, a son called Isaac.
I thought creating and naming the family after my own would give me extra incentive to succeed, but boy did I fail epically hard!
The Indie Game Website writes: "Sheltered has been out for a couple of years on PC and is now gracing the Switch with its desolate, stressful presence. Set in the wake of a post-apocalyptic disaster, you have one goal: try and keep your family alive. The entire world has fallen into ruin, so rather than working towards the greater good, you just have to keep your loved ones alive for as long as you can."
Team17, a global games label, creative partner and developer of independent, premium video games in partnership with Unicube announced that Sheltered is out now on Nintendo Switch™.
Could have done with a little more information on the game really.
"post-apocalyptic family survival sim"
So... Like a family vacation to the Middle East?
I admit this one was a little more rushed than usual. It's a life sim where a family lives in a shelter, and has to get by, and also survive. It looks like the family has to occasionally leave the shelter to find food and resources, and sometimes make decisions on whether to let certain people in. Apparently other survivors are treated as a potential hazard though. The Kickstarter page has all the info.
I guess I could have added a couple more paragraphs describing the game. I've been experimenting a little between long coverage, and short news pieces, but I think I'll go back to my usual format of longer posts. By the way, as of today, the Kickstarter is just over £1000 off from its goal(not dollars, which I might have mistakenly said in my post). Yikes, I must have had an off day again yesterday. It had been an off week for me, for reasons that would bore you.
