Shovel Knight to get new DLC in celebration of fantastic sales.

The makers of Shovel Knight, Yacht Club Games, were so pleased with the warm welcome, and high sales, that Shovel Knight has received on the PC, 3DS, and Wii U, that they've gone ahead and announced a complimentary set of FREE DLC for the game, which will include new playable boss campaigns, a new challenge mode and The Order of No Quarter battle mode, and even a gender swap mode.

DLC? but all of those things were supposed to be from the start, they were part of the extra goals from the Kickstarter campaign. Is not really DLC.

Considering that dlc means downloadable content, yeah, it IS freakin' dlc. And I'm grateful to be getting it!

Im currently on the last stage, playing it on my Wii U. It is definitely a great game, especially if your old enough to remember the SNES days. Loving this announcement.

Seeing as how Shovel Knight uses 16 bit tech and music, also taking 'ques' from other 16 bit games. SNES is the right wording.

Those aren't newly announced "DLC" and they have nothing to do with the game's warm reception-- all those things were planned over a year ago during the Kickstarter campaign, and were achieved as stretch goals.

The blog post from the other day clarifies this and just a few seconds of research (i.e. reading, Google searching) would have made this blatantly obvious to the writer of this stupidly misinformed article. I'll remember not to click on links to this site again if lazy, incorrect writing is the norm.

That said, I'm really hoping they've been working on this post-launch content, since waiting until the end of the year for it would be a little rough. I love the game, but I think after a play through of the second quest and a speedrun attempt or two, the only reason I'll be playing it again is to show it off to friends.
