Missed the alpha. Can't wait to get my hands on the beta!

Crazyglues3616d ago (Edited 3616d ago )

Yeah the D E S T I N Y Alpha turned me into a junkie..

I played it, fell in-love with it and now all I do is start up my PS4 wanting to play - and it's done.

-So I sit and wait, sit and wait, sit and wait.. OMG! is it 7-17-14 yet! -Because this junkie needs his drugs already, I'm dying out here..

Nothing can take it's place because nothing is as good.. I play BF4 and shut it down after one game, Play Killzone/Call Of Duty Ghost and close it, played Hardline, and stopped... I just need Destiny.

I can't even get back to Watchdog's side missions, because I just want to play Destiny.

It has completely spoiled me, and I'm hooked.. I Need the game Right Now.. !
-I'm Ready to Jump back in Bungie, Trust Me I'm so Ready -

I'm with you man. I do wish it was rated M, but that's not a big deal at all. It's so addicting, and so much fun to play. My type of game!

Matt6663615d ago

I didn't enjoy, doesn't help you could tell activison had there hands all over that game like with the throwing knife. I think it could been a lot better if Bungie made it themselves.

BlackOni3616d ago

The Alpha was up for such a little amount of time, I'm really looking forward to getting hands on with the Beta, and seeing what changes they've made! I'm hoping they allow the ability to hijack vehicles, as that's my main gripe against the game.

iiwii3615d ago (Edited 3615d ago )

You mean hijack from other players? Because me and a friend took some of the Sparrows that the Fallen rode in near the shipyard (after we shot them). We were able to ride them and use the guns mounted on them to fire back at the other Fallen still riding around. Riding a Sparrow with guns was awesome.

BlackOni3615d ago

I mean take vehicles from other players while they're still riding them. I think that was something the original Halo games did really well. If you timed it right, you could hold x (or square on a playstation controller) and knock the other player off of their vehicle, taking it for your own. This game definitely needs that.

Clearly this author did not explore the tower enough. Yes you can change your armor color at the tower for minimal glimmer,

Before writing an article, late as it is, at least cross your T and dot your I...

BlackOni3616d ago

Alpha ended before I could really spend much time there, but you're right, I didnt' spend much time in the tower. :/ But thanks for the info!

Personally, i loved halo, but with destiny is really abondoning halo fans who dont want to leave xbox. while exclusive dlc for any product is terrible, ot seems extra hurtful this time around

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter360d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood360d ago (Edited 360d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro360d ago (Edited 360d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881360d ago (Edited 360d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell359d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig360d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast360d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername360d ago (Edited 360d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g359d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka359d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai511d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.
