The Witcher 3's Possible PS4 and Xbox One Exclusive Features Found in Leaked Design Documents

Today a whole batch of design documents for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been leaked (apparently through the hacking of a Google Drive account of a developer), and they included quite a bit of interesting information.

DualShockers won’t publish most of it, because it includes enormous stpoilers (including the endings), yet a document about the alpha version of the game included some nice non-spoilery information about possible Xbox One and PS4 exclusive features.

Surely sony or MS will want some exclusive features for a high profile game like this.

If this is true then at least hoping those will be timed exclusive.

iiTehDroiD3595d ago

CD Projekt RED recently confirmed that they won't support Plattform exclusiv content in The Witcher 3:
http://www.ign.com/articles...

Abriael3595d ago

Content and features are two different things. What they meant there is that there won't be exclusive quests, weapons, stuff like that.

Mr Pumblechook3595d ago

The rumours were true... CD Projekt is a PAY TO GIMP company. They accept financial incentives to gimp the capabilities of a game they are making.

PS4 can use voice commands with the PlayStation camera.
The Witcher 3 includes voice commands for Xbone but not PS4.
We all understand about paid for exclusive content but one manufacturer should not think it is acceptable to pay money to gimp features of another console.
After making so much fuss about how it is wrong to produce exclusive content, for CD Projekt to turn around and do this makes them hypocrites. It starts a dangerous precedent for the gaming industry and they and Microsoft should be ashamed.

The_Hero3595d ago

Not confirmed yet for the PS4.
They should. Let's make some noice to get them.
Map tracking for touchpad like in Assassin's Creed.

SilentNegotiator3595d ago

I'm so sick of seeing Xbox get exclusive voice commands. I remember using voice commands in the freaking SOCOM games on Ps2; it doesn't require a massive amount of set-aside resources or a magical Kinect. Also, PS dev kits have supported simple integration of voice controls for quite a time now.

We have none other but our selves to blame for the worsening state of the games industry today.

We are quickly and surely approaching the time where we will be paying $60+ for a severely gutted game on disc only to have to pay for the remaining parts as DLC.

Additionally, it will be even further divided by paid 'exclusivity' between those who are willing to buy them, then after some time making those parts available for all other systems as DLC.

They will be making one game in many parts from the start in order to accommodate this new blood sucking, money whoring trend we, the gamers are helping into making them more comfortable day after day to push and set as standard.

RIP Single Player and day one complete games.

I'm done, you guys can continue with your pointless bitching about voice commands and whatnot.

Oh boy why do I have this feeling that if this turns out to be true. It's going to be this all gen sigh!

But still exclusive content has to draw a line somewhere.

JBSleek3595d ago

If you read you would know they are talking about using the Smartglass, Kinect, and Lightbar and not exclusive content.

MasterCornholio3595d ago

The developers said that the content would be the same on all platforms. So nobody has to worry about exclusive or timed content. PC will provide the best experience while next gen consoles will probably provide a good experience as well.

JBSleek3595d ago

If you can get this game on PC.

AznGaara3595d ago

With the big "feature" being it's the only place where your saves will carry over from the first and second game :)

MasterCornholio3595d ago

I hope they take advantage of the track pad for manipulating the map. I loved that feature in AC4 and in FF14 I use the trackpad to target enemy's in tricky situations.

You know, though I like news, posting what someone "hacked" is not really news, its stealing information and then running with it. Sorry, but this alone just turns me off. IN a round about way you are aiding criminal activity.

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan20d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave20d ago (Edited 20d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.

Street Fighter 2
Resident Evil 1

Infinite but not the first two games? Witcher 3 but not the first two games?? GTA V but not literally any of the games before it??? Portal 2 but not the first? Also if you're going to play Shadow of The Colossus play the remaster and not the remake. Can't say I disagree with the list but my man it's all over the place.

Name Last Name44d ago

I mean some sequels are objectively better and you don’t need to play the whole series.

Inverno44d ago

But most of these games have a story to follow, sure you can catch up with a YouTube vid but where's the fun in that?

LucasRuinedChildhood44d ago (Edited 44d ago )

A list like this isn't telling you not to play the previous games if you want to. It's just giving you legendary games to play.

But tbh, you don't always have to force yourself to play every entry in a franchise to get to the better ones.

- The vast majority of Witcher 3 players never played the first 2 and had a great time. The first 2 games aren't in the same league.
- The GTA games are self-contained with the odd fun reference. You can easily jump into any of them.
- The Shadow Of The Colossus remake looks and controls better than the original (plus it has a 60fps option while the remaster is just 30fps). New players will enjoy it more.
- Portal 2 is a lot better than Portal 1 and takes the concept much further gameplay-wise. Storywise, Portal 1 is fairly light too. Not that you shouldn't play it but realistically ... you'd love Portal 2 whether you play it or not (at lot of Portal 2 players have never played 1).

Bioshock 1 is the only one I agree with you on simply because it's one the best games of all time and arguably better than Infinite. No other setting like Rapture.

Looking at the list, I'd recommend playing Uncharted 1 before 2 but no doubt, 2 is the legendary one you have to play.

Inverno44d ago

I get it, but that's just my opinion on his opinion. I just think that before you play a sequel you should still play what came before it. Maybe it's just me but i find it fascinating playing through the first game in a series and seeing how it has evolved through its sequels. Like I said I don't disagree with the list, other than SoTC which I strongly believe the remaster of the original should be played above the remake.

AuraAbjure44d ago

Awesome list! Hot take on Fear (and it's hard af expansion Persaus Mandate!) Bioshock Infinite is stellar, so is the Witcher 3 and you nailed it by having Ocarina of Time. So many fantastic games! Gotta play 'em all! Next one on my list is Prey after I beat Dead Space 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.
