Well, the June numbers from NPD showed that VG was undercounting PS4s by about 50,000 units and overcounting XB1s by about 35,000 units... So, the numbers are probably even better than this for the PS4.

Its one thing to witness the impressive numbers the PS4 continues to reach month after month, and something completely different to realize how there has been no buzz whatsoever regarding the Kinectless XBO.

Its been over a week. For something as significant as a $100 price drop, you would have heard something about its success a long time ago. When the 360 dropped price that much, it was only a matter of days until you heard the news of a large sale increase. With the first PS3 Slim, even sooner. The cheaper XBO came on the first day of E3!!

No doubt there's a sales increase. I just can't imagine its been a massive change considering E3 came and went without a peep and NPD came out - also without a peep.

I have to disagree with you on the FPS notion. I am loving the DS4 for shooters. Plus, smoother frame rates on the PS4 is always better.

I don't know if there is anything MS can do at this point. The XB1 just isn't viewed positively at all. It is the same price as the more powerful system and everyone knows it. People mainly care about multiplats and PS4 is the place to play them this gen.

They claimed the Wii U sold 78,000 units in the US for the last week of May. NPD numbers came out yesterday and they only sold 60,000 units for the entire month. Their one week total was 30% higher than what they sold FOR THE MONTH.

Same week as the link above (May 31st), but now I guess they only sold 46,500 units. They only overshot the week by about 66%. It's because they have no real data. They're not a legitimate sales site. They're a joke. A farce.

Yeah I don't know if you looked at the link but the tweets came from Ian Sherr, a CNET employee who covers video games. He specifically says the Wii U was up 85% over May 2013.

I think Nintendo is going to finish second. All the Wii U needed was games and now their getting them. They still have over a 2 million hardware lead and Xbox One isn't getting no system sellers until late next year with Halo and maybe Gears of War. With that said the new Zelda should more than keep Xbone underneath Nintendo's heal.

PS4 has a few million larger installed base than Wii U so a highly anticipated multi-plat should sell equal or more.

X1 sales have been supressed since a month ago where MS announced the $399 Kinect-less SKU. I expect the slack to be picked up in the next week of sales and X1 will be above the Wii U but below PS4 worldwide again.

PS3 should be outselling 360 as it is a year younger. It is actually really amazing how long PS3 and 360 have sold consistently good.

The numbers are currently about as logical as it gets.

Even at the height of Sonys "arrogance", they still took risks on things like Bluray and pricing to put out the best console they could, and it turned out to be the best console of the generation, like all their consoles.

I can forgive things like you will want to get another job, theyre just marketing pitches. Its harder to get over a company trying to shaft you every chance they get, pushing just to see how far we will bend before we break.

And everyone seems to be forgetting, yeah MS is bending over backward right now to try and win back all the fans they lost, and all the gamers they disrespected, by it just comes off as pandering, and sucking up. They have no choice but to do that. They always trying hard at the beginning of a generation. For a bout 4 years anyway. Then they drop it when they see they arent winning and try to get the jump on the next gen, because being early is their only real advantage. It will be interesting to see actual confirmed numbers. But that is indeed woeful numbers for the Xbox1 if true.

I had a few mates that had yet to make the leap to next gen. They, like myself were avid Xbox supporters last gen (though we all also owned and loved our PS3's too)

Most have now (post E3) purchased a PS4. They had all spent time playing both my PS4 and Xbox1 (before I sold it) and up until very recently were still on the fence about which console to purchase first.

The two factors that decided it for them? First, the Kinect less Xbox1 not being cheaper than the PS4. They, like me, agree that the Xbox1 needs to be priced cheaper than the PS4 to be competitive. Second. The lack on any compelling exclusives demonstrated at E3, and the Xbox1's continued lacklustre performance on multi plats.

I know it's off topic. But I'm sure there are many Xbox supporters out there who are thinking the same way. Buying the PS4 now and holding off buying a Xbox1 till down the track.

We all (myself included) plan on buying a Xbox1 at some stage in the future. But it might be a while if MS continue their (IMO) poor form.

Mario Kart 8: 1,399,686

MK8 will definitely have the longer legs and WD came out like 3 days earlier or something, but what you said isn't very accurate. Accounting for the ~3 day difference, I'd say they're neck and neck, easily.
