PlayStation E3 Movie Theaters Experience "Part" of Sony's New Format, Cities Already Selling Out

Industry insider Shinobi602 was proven right with his sources once again as Sony announced the possibility to watch the house of PlayStation's E3 conference on the silver screen in several Movie Theaters in the US.

In fact he had talked about a new format being readied by Sony a few days ago, and today he mentioned that the new announcement is "part" of it.

My kids have never been so engaged in a gaming experience, and they play plenty of games. Wonderbook is that next step to seeing our imagination come to life. Books made real. Imagine if they can put that tech into every single children's book and make it come to life.

@ FG.. For the waiting list, you would actually have to go to the theatre and hope that others who had gotten tickets don't show up. 15 mins before the show, whichever seats are open, the people on the waiting list will have an opportunity to fill the empty spots.

Anyway, this will finally help put fears to rest. Sony isn't going all out, renting out movie theaters to spend massive amounts of time of small downloadable indie titles or sales charts.

There's going to be at least one megaton, and loads and loads of AAA games, if this is the format they are going for. The Last Guardian is a given, but Shenmue III or Crash Bandicoot? Quite possibly.

E3 in theaters? I guess that could be a really good idea. I can see that being appealing to a large fanbase...that way you can see the games in a large detailed view. As of right now it's not really my thing, I like being next to a computer for E3 just so I can do internet searches and watch videos again at my own pace...but anyone seeing it at a theater can also do that later when they get home...

I'm excited about this because Sony must be pretty damn confident that their conference will blow minds to do this. If the conference delivers the goods, every theater-goer and reviewer/journalist that comes out of an MTE event will sing praises to everyone within earshot, not only about the conference but of the MTE itself, and social media will explode. THIS is how you do word-of-mouth publicity. They're basically replicating the E3 experience for the audience that couldn't make it to Cali. I expected something like this to have been done by, say, Nintendo years ago. Kudos on Sony for doing it first, if any other company does this they'll be riding Sony's coattails.
