Kinect-less Xbox One – losing a battle, winning a war?

Voxel Juice writes: "Recently Microsoft decided to fall on their motion-sensor sword and offer consumers the ability to purchase a Xbox One without Kinect. This is a far cry from the Xbox One’s announcement where Kinect was touted to be integral to the system, alongside other classic hits like always-on internet and compulsory MSNSA DNA profiling.

So where does this leave the console space right now? Have Microsoft levelled the playing field with Sony or is it the desperate throes of a corporation realising they've utterly ballsed up this hardware cycle?"
