Metro: Redux for PS4 and Xbox One Listed on Amazon, Release Date Set for August 28th

You know I have not written anything in months on this site but still like to read all the gaming news everyday, but I really just cant stand seeing postings by Greennoob day in and day out all you have are negative comments about anything that's not related to MS or Xbox. Its really sad to see someone spend more time on N4G then actually play videogames in its self. It makes me question you and the other two stooges who follow you from room to room if you guys even play videogames at all? For the amount of time that you post on N4G you sure cant back anything up that you say. Metro was a fantastic game that has great story telling and narrative that puts most games to shame with. Im going to bash Titanfall a little bit that you so dearly love because in my opinion bud it is garbage I traded it in 3 days after I got it because the quality just isn't there and the longtivity of the game just disappears after a few hours in. Its not a bad game just a rental and I would personally not advise anyone getting the game in my opinion. So Greennoob how about you get off N4G and play some dam videogames and stop hating on everything BRO! You obvisouly aren't a true gamer or open minded to anything but yourself. It sucks to be you and its great to be me because I play on all consoles and I get to experience something you never will with a conscious like that.

Metro 2033 was a 360 exclusive. I still dont agree with ur opinion and thought it was a great game for its time. I never got to the sequel.

I actually will agree with George here that the game is overrated on the consoles. Its not as polished as a Bioshock or a COD because it was poorly optimized for the consoles when it was ported down. So this is where the PS4 will greatly enhance the game and make it playable. The games look plain ugly and that's a fact when you play them on the consoles.

I think they were good, the 1st one was a little stiff but the second was a major improvement on all fronts.

That would make me buy 2033 again right there but it probably won't happen.

It was great but even devs admitted many of its weak points. It was clunky by comparison to most shooters (even older ones) but story/atmosphere was enough to overlook most anything. It was worse on console though but PC version wasn't perfect either.

Still, both Metro games are two of my favorite games from last gen and quite high on favorite shooters/settings/games in general. I hope their next game lives up to my expectations ;)

Metro 2033 and last light melted PCs, i had 2 GTX 780s to get a smooth 60fps at 1440p at max settings. After the resolution reductions of other games on both consoles i don't understand how on earth you can expect 1080p, and if i hear "optimisation" which is console fanboys favourite word please understand optimisation will help performance but won't give the you a magical amount of extra power and after watch dogs revealed to be running at 900p and other multi plats like battlefield 4 running at 900p with x86 architecture which means there is no "hidden" power like the cell.

I don't want to ruin your joy of the remake (I honestly think its great) , but I'm just stating facts so theres no confusion.

@donttbhatin I play it at 1440p not 1080p which requires a lot more power to run, 1 780 would be fine for 60fps at 1080p

DOnt know why you needed 2 780's to do that, you must have had a bottleneck or you were using max AA which is completely unnecessary. I can almost get a constant 60 fps on my r9 270x. and on 2033 i can max that no problem...

Playstation owners have never gotten to play the original. And, the game looks gorgeous on the highest of settings, there's a marginal difference between the PC and console versions right now.

I sort of agree, but... Games just as these are not really being "remastard" they were originally built, and did run on PCs that had far more power than the PS4 and Xbox One.

It could be argued that the original console release was a crippled downgraded release of what the game was meant to be and now we are getting an experience closer to that it was intended to be.

At the end of the day though nobody has a gun to our heads to buy this stuff. For me it will all be about what else is out (or not) around the time. Ill take both games for a good price.

Own Metro: Last Light but never got the chance to play Metro 2033, which is funny because that game was one of the main reasons I bought a 360 having been a PS3 fan, and I never bought it, so this will be awesome.

funny you say that i bought a 360 to play games like metro 2033 but odly enough i still havent bought it yet instead ive been playing blue dragon and alan wake which both are also great additions to 360´s library.

Haha, so both of us bought consoles for specific games and still haven't touched those games, gotta love it. I remember I bought Allen Wake when it came out for like $18 on Amazon and I must say, that was an awesome game, loved the graphics and the storyline. Sold my 360 a long while ago, since I had both 360 and PS3 and rarely touched the 360, only because all my friends were on PS3, and even being a Playstation fan I definitely think the 360 had some amazing looking games on it, and some of their exclusives made it worth buying a 360, most times really wish I wouldn't have sold it. Loved the controller of the 360 as well, just couldn't see buying Xbox Live Gold when I was already paying for PS+, so any friends I had that was on Xbox I couldn't play online with them if I wanted to, but I am definitely thinking about picking up either a 360 again, or an Xbox One at some point, to sit right next to my PS3 and PS4, lol.

It also would be nice see more levels like the Kshatriya mission that came with the season pass.That mission alone feels less linear that the whole campaign and it also included some cool creepy/scary moments.

Neither game is a masterpiece, but they are fun games. Having both games as a package seems like a good deal at full price, as long as they are well done transfers (no reason they shouldn't be).

They will need to do some optimization and bug fixes, or at least carry over the bug fixes from the PC version. The games require(d) a hefty PC to play at high settings and they looked awesome, but the required PC settings were still too high because the game wasn't entirely optimized. They should be able to come close to getting the games to 1080p 60fps (or at least 30fps) with high PC settings with a little optimization.

I don't get it, why didn't they also port 2033 to PS3 if they can port it to PS4. MLL spoiled me the ending of 2033 so not porting it to PS3 was a very bad move. Still I'm going to buy Redux because MLL was amazing!

Originally Metro 2033 was a PC and 360 exclusive. Then LL came along but was not an exclusive and was developed from the get go for PC, 360 and PS3. Due to PS3's cell architecture it is a costly and lengthy procedure to port games to it. Whereas now the PS4's architecture is essentially very similar to a PC so it is easier to port 2033 to the PS4 based on the PC version of the game.

Sorry not the tidiest explanation but this was probably the case.

Thank you for the helpful info, but honestly I can't believe the fact they didn't port it because of the high costs of porting, Deep Silver is a fairly big company so they were probably able to handle the costs,but I'd assume there was a deal going on between MS and DS which was a long term exclusivity contact, Anyway can't wait for Redux!

I gave Last Light a 9 on meta. One of the best single player experiences on Video games.

Looking forward for Redux since i never got the chance to play 2033.
