Project Beast is Likely a Shadow Tower Game

New evidence has arisen that indicates the newly leaked FROM game Project Beast – probably headed by ‘Souls’ mastermind Hidetaka Miyazaki – is likely a new entry in the Shadow Tower series.

It's doubtful that it will be, especially considering the screenshots and the high regard people have for Souls combat.

I think, personally, that it's a smart move by FROM. It will likely be similar enough to Dark/Demon's Souls to feel familiar, but will differentiate itself enough to be a unique experience, as opposed to a carbon-copy of DkS.

I think it;s either Demon's souls 2 which as he already said has quite alot of similarities to Shadow Tower or it's a new IP which is like a spiritual successor to Shadow Tower.

Shadow tower was a ps2 exclusive game released in only japan. it was fps game similar or in the vein of kings field. another game developed by from software and the progenitor for the souls franchise.

I never played Shadow Tower but a first person Demon Souls type of game sound interesting.

But I really hope it's third person and more like Demon's Soul than anything.

1) Make a "spiritual successor" to two franchises few people know about and even fewer bought. Or,

2) Make a sequel to the game that became a massive hit and garnered a huge cult following.

Not sure how you arrive at the conclusion that a guess pulled from thin air, is somehow to be taken as a "fact".

The "Souls" series has become pretty well known and valuable in its own right. Based on name recognition alone, it would be weird for them to not call this game Demon's Souls 2, or some other variation of Souls (hopefully not Beast Souls, which sounds awful), as it would instantly appeal to a large fan base. That said, I also like the idea of new game that branches off a bit from the Souls formula. Either way, the game will almost certainly be awesome with Miyazaki at the helm.

Man, I do wish there is a new King's Field game in development as it is one of my personal favorite PS2 game. Judging from the pics, it does have a King's Field look to it.

If it really is exclusive then it will be Demon's Souls otherwise you can expect to see it on other platforms soon after release.

Im sure sony will want this game to sell more than what demons souls did so people expecting a souls clone with overpowered enemies will most likely be disappointed.

This author is clueless. Shadow Tower was certainly released to Western audiences (my entire family played that game). The sequel however, did not reach western shores.

Also, the original Shadow Tower didn't have any guns, and was very similar to King's Field games of the time. Shadow Tower was literally Demon's Spouls to Dark Souls, instead of having a sprawling, open world, players had to use the tower to get to different floors, which sort of served as as what the Nexus was in Demon's Souls.
