2K Games confirms "enhanced" Bioshock to hit PS3 in October 2008

2K Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), announced today that BioShock®, the "genetically enhanced" story-driven action game, is in development for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system at 2K Marin. The PLAYSTATION 3 system title will be released in October 2008 with new features and content that heighten the award-winning experience.

you know what I find funny. Last year, a lot of people was complaing about there isn't any "good" game coming out for the ps3. Now the are complaing that there is too many "good" game coming for it. I personally am getting 8 games between September and December of this year for the Playstation 3 (nothing including my xbox360). This is great news for PS3 owners. I have played through this game twice, once on 360 and then once on the PC when I finally upgraded. This was by far one of the best FPS games I have ever played. There is actually a great story to it which makes you want to keep moving, I have a hard time feeling the necessity to move on in some FPS games, where as this one, I didn't want to stop.

There are so many great things I could say about this game. If you haven't played this game yet, and you like FPS games in any way shape or form, you need to get this game.

The only negative thing I have to say about it is the ending, but thankfully with this game the game itself is so great you can forgive the ending. Although maybe that is something they are going to modify in this release.

According to my gamestop PS3 software release paper

Little Big planet is coming early october
Motorstorm is coming late october
And Resistance is coming early november.

I'm expecting resistance to release somewhere in the late 20's of november like most big releases.

Motorstorm's release is similar to ratchet and clank's release date last year(almost november, barely october) so I'm guessing that motorstorm and resistance will be the "ratchet and uncharted" of this year.

So bioshock should fit in.

Oblivion was a great port and it looked and ran better on the ps3. Oblivion devs did a great job porting the game to the ps3, capcom porting games over pulled an ea on ps3 owners and is a reason why lost planet isnt selling well on the ps3 because ps3 owners dont dig crappy ports such as myself. :)

Part of the reason some of these fail is because you're looking at the PS3 version for $59.99 vs. the 360 version that's mostly identical for $19.99 - $29.99.

I looked at buying Lost Planet when it came out, but it didn't make sense when places were selling the 360 version for half as much.

When a game is ported to another platform, it's in an attempt to reach a broader market...as in, people who don't own one of the platforms on which a game was previously released. Capcom and Bethesda weren't concerned with people who likely had already played their games on PC/360, or at least COULD have; they were after PS3-only gamers, who were looking for a new experience for their console. Unfortunately, early adopters for the PS3 weren't as hardcore gamers as 360 owners, and weren't buying a lot of software...mostly Blu-Ray movies. That trend still holds, as LP did poorly, while LP:C is set to release for 360, and will likely do close to a million because of the new content. It's an undeniable fact: the PS3 doesn't move software as well as the 360...even with exclusives. MGS4 will likely be the first PS3 game, to sell beyond 4 million, like several 360 games have already. The PS3 is lucky to sell above 1 million on most titles, while the 360 does it with every semi-major release.

See, having stuff later isn't always bad. We get more content and maybe (possibly) a graphically better looking game, cause of hardware and time to develop, so I don't have to pay for any expansions, hurray.
