It is hard to talk about a Spider-Man game and not bring up the arguably best Spidey game of all time, which is Spider-Man 2 for the PlayStation 2. After that Spider-Man games went down a slippery slope. However I felt with the first Amazing Spider-Man game that came out in 2012 was the closest to what we loved about Spider-Man 2 and made good changes that was borrowed from the Batman Arkham series. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 though, doesn’t change much at all from the first one except makes everything feel like half a heart was put into it. The first felt like they put some thought into it were here in the second they copied and pasted everything they could and rushed it out as soon as possible.
Let's celebrate Stan Lee the best way gamers know how, by looking at his most memorable virtual appearances. Excelsior!
OnlySP spoke to Beenox co-studio head and creative director Thomas Wilson about the company’s work on Spider-Man games. Between 2001 and 2007, Beenox did not develop a single original game. Instead, the studio worked as a porting house. Beenox’s experience with movie tie-ins led to the studio’s original work on The Bee Movie in 2007 and Monsters vs. Aliens in 2009, and its experience porting Spider-Man games resulted in the studio being handed the reigns to develop original Spider-Man titles in 2010.
Nice read. Wilson's candor is refreshing. He flat out says Activision did not give Beenox the budget, resources, or the time they needed. Really is too bad Activision squandered their opportunities with the Spider-man franchise. They could have made some really great games. Activision being Activision.
Always felt bad for this team. They did a lot of things right, but Activision screwed them over at every turn.
TechRaptor's Dan Hodges writes, "With Insomniac's highly promising Spider-Man right around the corner, let's revisit some of the web-slinger's worst video game outings."
Don’t forget about Spider Man 2 The PC Version which is worse than the console version. Web of Shadow PS2 version is also the worse than PS3/X360.
Best Spider Man game to date has to be Spider Man 2.
Worst Spider Man game to date I will have to go with The Amazing Spider Man 2.
The absolute WORST Spider Man game is, by far, the PSVR installment. I'd have more fun playing with dog shit than that game.
This review is terribly written;
"However I felt with the first Amazing Spider-Man game that came out in 2012 was the closest to what we loved about Spider-Man 2 and made good [changed] that was borrowed from the Batman Arkham series."
"The first felt like they put some thought into it [were] here in the second they copied and pasted everything they could and rushed it out as soon as possible."
"Also the fighting mechanics felt a little [borrows] as well when..."
Brackets are my emphasis. Seriously, learn to proof read your work. How do you expect anyone to take your review seriously when you write at a 4th grade level?

Spider Man 2 was the best spidey game but people seem to forget it came out on the original xbox to. Everytime I read a spidey review amd they reference Spider Man 2 they only mention the ps2 like it was exclusive or something. Why is that?
