Greg Micek writes: "This week we're talking about the unusual, and fairly murky, OTON X Kickstarter campaign. As you know by now, the OTON X is a video game console with a somewhat storied history that failed to garner much attention during its recent Kickstarter campaign. In researching what exactly the OTON X is about we came away with some serious questions regarding the legitimacy of the console; which leads us to ask. Is the OTON X console a scam?"
A self learning, free from control, game building, AI based recommendation console?
Sounds cool at first but no thanks. That sounds fucking creepy on second thought o.o
The video from Kickstarter that one of the contributors linked is fucking ridiculous.
Yeah, this thing is a sham. I don't think even Google has a "true" AI yet so who the fuck is this random ass small ass company going to come up with and how?
Yeah, I wouldn't call it a complete scam in that the creators may believe in what they're doing but I certainly won't do anything, financially, to support the console or it's creators.

David Lins writes: "Or, well, maybe you'd better not. Between the numerous grammatical errors and the oddly professional-looking-yet-off videos, there are some fishy things with the OTON X Kickstarter. Could it be a scam, or is it simply an impassioned but otherwise terrible pitch? I decided to jump down into this rabbit hole so that you wouldn’t have to."
Carl Williams writes, "That headline is no joke, there is a console that is coming that will bring artificial intelligence to retro gaming. The problem is, it is not in the way that you are probably thinking. No, games won’t all of a sudden be able to learn your level of skill after a few plays and then tailor the difficulty accordingly. The artificial intelligence that the Oton, by EnGeniux, is bringing a different kind of artificial intelligence to the classic style games."
