This comes as great news, such a big game needs both versions to be spot on and i have every confidence in Bethesda Software to pull it off.

BeaArthur6234d ago

It would be nice, but we have all heard this claim before.

pharmd6234d ago

i cannot wait for this game and i know bethesda is going to make it worth every penny!!!!

deeznuts6234d ago (Edited 6234d ago )

BeaArthur, we have heard it all before, but even though they had aa year to do it, Bethedsa at least has had a good running game on PS3, and it was a weeeeee bit better than the 360 version apparently.

thePatriot6234d ago

while It doesnt mattnoter much, its not like I need some gimmick to play arround with. I say it would be nice to oppen vaults with the sixaxis like in kilzone 2 by turning it like u are turning a valve.

meepmoopmeep6234d ago

bethesda will do a great job. they're proven that with the oblivion port. so no worries on the ps3 side.

barom6234d ago

Normally I would just dismiss these claims as developers tend to state this. But Bethesda has had Oblivion running really well on the PS3. With the power of the hard drive, they even increased the viewing distance.

No worries from me.

I'm sure someone some where will find some obscure and pointless difference and try to blow it out of proportion...

PwnShop6234d ago

maybe one platform will have a few more polygons

Angelitos6234d ago

If only it was using the bluray potential.....

predator6234d ago

who says its not, because they will be the same does not mean Bethesda wont be using Blu Rays features

kevanio096234d ago (Edited 6234d ago )

from what i understand it is

using up those extra GB's the duplicate the data so that no installing is needed

wouldnt be possible on the 360 ;)

Ju6234d ago

I agree. I want to see 25+ GB content. Not mirrored.

tordavis6234d ago

More space means less compression, not a better looking game. They set the parameters of what they want to achieve in the game before they actually get to coding, art and animation. That's why Burnout Paradise looks the same on both systems. If you don't plan on working on a PS3 version of a 360 game, you run into complications later because of architecture differences like RAM. Look at any game where PS3 was the lead platform and you'll see that the 360 counterpart looks and plays the same.

Bladestar6234d ago (Edited 6234d ago )

"wouldnt be possible on the 360 ;)"

Not needed on the xbox 360... ;)

Game installs are a workaround for blu-ray reading speed.

* This shouldn't be that hard to understand... if blu-ray disc has 3X the capacity of DVD9... shouldn't be able to read at least 3X faster; in order keep loading equal? well it's not... just like if a PS3 game uses 50GB disc... it make sense that drive should be able to read 5X faster... That's the reason why these installs are required on the PS3 and not needed on the xbox 360...

you remember the reading speed of the PS2? only 4X.

The xbox 360 drive can read at 12X... that's a huge improvement.

I understand the benefit if more space... but what good does it do.. if the extra space needs to be use to create redundant data or mandatory installs; which creates more work for developers who now have to work on these workarounds...

I believe blu-ray reading speed is too slow for gaming... Hopefully by the next xbox or PS3 blu-ray reading speed will be at least 5x faster... unless ofcourse Sony sees the needs of creating a new format that would require the entire game to be loaded to a hard drive.

Fishy Fingers6234d ago (Edited 6234d ago )

Bladestar, while they are a work around for Blu-Rays slow read speed in the case of the PS3, they also offer a lot of other benefits.

Sorry anyone who denies that installs have beneficial qualities is a n00b in my eye's.

SL1M DADDY6234d ago

But let me ask you this, in one revolution of a BD disc, isn't there more information than in a single revolution of a DVD? In other words, if there were 4 times the information in a sing revolution on the BD as there were in a single revolution of a DVD, then wouldn't the BD be reading the same level of information on a single revolution that the DVD is reading at 4 times the speed (4 revolutions)? The read speed might be slower but the data is far more in the same disc size so you would think that the whole read speed argument would be getting a bit old. COD4 didn't have a mandatory install and yet it runs the same on both systems. Oblivion doesn't have a mandatory install and yet it looks better on the PS3... How does this fit in with your rant?

socomnick6234d ago

Oblivion on the ps3 was in development for a year longer of course it will look better. The oblivion game of the year edition looks better on the xbox 360 though.

Ju6234d ago

More space means more content, like in MGS4, R2 or KZ2. That's what I want. Currently multiplatform PS3 games feel like Wii games with classic controls. Seriously. Use that damn machine. Not a toned down version to make the 360 fans happy.

juuken6234d ago

Bladestar once again talks with no facts to back up his claims!

shazam6234d ago

bladestar needs to be permabanned from the gamer zone. he just blurts a bunch of anti sony nonsense with no facts to back it up.

Cop_Boy6234d ago

but i think the ps3 version might be superior or identical with the 360 ,,, if u wanna take oblivion in to account , Bethesda did a fine job with the ps3 version ..... Anyway its gonna be great for all the consoles , so enjoy

predator6234d ago

the reason why the ps3 version was better was beacuse of the extra dev time they could give it, a year in fact, both versions will be the same i can promise that to you

poos36234d ago

hahaha i hate to be a bringer of bad news but we here this a lot its called dammge controll the ps3 version will prolly be inferior tbh

DR GRIM6234d ago

ya u siad its called dammge controll the ps3 version will prolly be better

Give us FO3 with all the dlc remastered like ESO. Load times faster, quality of life improvements, gun play improvements

I believe it shouldn't just be graphical they should make improvements where they can to make the game better. A simple face lift isn't what's needed

ZeekQuattro58d ago

Still my favorite one. I remember getting a digital copy of FO3 when I got FO4(XBO). It was nice to finally play a stable version of the game. Then when I got a Series S it was an even better expierence. Quick resume and FPS boost made it feel like a whole new game. Updated gunplay would be very welcome though. One of the few things FO4 did better.

New Vegas and Morrowind should have been first!

Christopher66d ago

Fairly certain we all know that New Vegas isn't getting anything because it's not a Bethesda developed game.

OMGitzThatGuy66d ago

MS owns both devs, if they want it, a 3rd party will make it.

Christopher65d ago

***MS owns both devs, if they want it, a 3rd party will make it. ***

I think the issue is that it's not a Bethesda developed game, not that MS owns both. This is more about Todd.

RaidenBlack65d ago (Edited 65d ago )

Yep ... Todd doesn't like getting bettered within his own IP scope.
I still think of the Elder Scrolls spin-off Obsidian pitched similar to New Vegas, but Todd rejected.

RaidenBlack65d ago (Edited 65d ago )

Replayed NV more than FO3 ... so I appreciate the FO3 remaster more.
For NV, I'd much prefer a sequel or a spinoff from Obsidian.

FTLmaster66d ago

Got a soft spot for Fallout 3, so I'd be down to play this.

-Foxtrot66d ago

It's crazy New Vegas wasn't worked on first to launch alongside Fallout Season 2.

They could have added all the cut content they had planned but didn't have enough development time to add, possibly even expand on it a little more. For example, have the Vegas strip as one big hub over being chopped into smaller sections we have to keep loading into.

neutralgamer199265d ago

Would love a complete remake or sequel with enough resources

Abnor_Mal65d ago

The only Fallout game I’ve played, PS3 had to keep stopping every few minutes to save. Next thing I knew the credits were rolling and I never did any side quest. I never replayed the game because of all the bugs the game had.

Yui_Suzumiya65d ago (Edited 65d ago )

I've played Fallout 3 more than any game. I lost count many years ago of how many times I finished it. It was my first Platinum trophy. But yeah, it was buggy on PS3 at launch before it got properly patched.

anast65d ago

They are only remaking their games that have been streamlined.
