Pixel Critique's month-long look at the 30 games that defined 2004, remembers a game that had no business being as good as it is.
Still think this is one of the best games of '04. Can't believe how this game turned out.
Most of Starbreeze is now working on the new Wolfenstein. I have high hopes for it.
Well now I'm a heck of a lot more interested in that game.
Yeah, I heard about that from someone in my Syndicate review comments section. I'm definitely keeping my eyes on that one.
well u just got me excited for it dude, didnt know that was case. riddick was one of best xbox games ever imo, loved it
Yep the founder and many team members of Starbreeze started Machinehead which is working on Wolfie the new order. Hopefully Machinehead games can work the same Starbreeze magic as they did on Riddick and The Darkness.
I have the HD version with the sequel. Still fun to this day. :D
Dark Athena? Yeah, I recently purchased a copy but haven't gotten around to playing it.
We need a third one.... waaaay overdue
Only if they still get Vin Diesel.
Best Graphics on original Xbox Hands down! Very Fun game
One of my favourite games of all time. It felt like a revelation at the time.
riddick was a bad movie.
It may be; however, Pitch Black was great! OT - the game was very well designed. The atmosphere was really immersive, and the intensity of the gameplay by the end was just epic! Very memorable playthrough.
I liked all three movies. The entire universe is pretty interesting. Video game only expands that interest.
the pc version of butcher bay had such amazing visuals, WAY ahead of its time, still looks better than anything that's ever been released on ps3 or 360, hilarious that it came out in 2004
PS2 never got this game. The xbox at the time could do stuff the PS2 couldn't, so instead of seeking parity or giving out a gimped version- they gave PS2 nothing. I think modern developers can learn something from this, rather than give out handicap parity version of things.
I remember when I first grabbed it for the original Xbox back in '04, I had many of the same thoughts & reservations that were brought up in this article. You can imagine my surprised reaction and enjoyment when I realized it was not a mere cheap, badly made movie-videogame cash-in. Another awesome game from the same year '04 that I feel deserves more recognition ( bugs and all ;) ) is - Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. Loved that game. With the recent news of world of darkness being cancelled ( which is a damn shame. sad news imo) I'd love to see a sequel or spiritual successor to Bloodlines.
Funny you should mention that game. I mean to get around to speaking about it soon.
Great! I look forward to reading what you have to say. Good luck on the article.
