GAME is among leading UK based online video game retailers, it also has a large chain of local stores which cater to the customers’ need for gaming products such as consoles and game discs. Recently, GAME announced that it is shutting down its Xbox-only GAME Boxpark video game products store that is located in London’s trendy Shoreditch area.
The first batch of PS5 pre-orders came without notice, leaving many fans disappointed at not being able to secure one. Fortunately, those who missed out will get another opportunity as Game has been sending out emails to its users.
You can't even login to check your details without being out into a 1hr queuing system, I've got no chance tomorrow morning.
Game stop just announced this in NA aswell so get your fingers ready yall
May the odds be ever in your favor. 🤞
I just learned yesterday I accidentally bought 3 Xbox Series X’s to go with my PS5 from target. Websites were so broken it would just crash and I didn’t realize I got anything until I saw my emails. Thankfully I have friends that wanted them, free flyer miles.
Does this ACTUALLY mean tomorrow and not tonight? Lol
No but seriously just give an exact time please
GAME UK is just about to go live with its UK pre-orders for the next generation of Xbox at the time of this article. However, if like me you have decided to login to GAME this morning, you will notice that there is currently a huge queue before you can login. You might even notice the site not loading as well due to the demand.
Nailed mine on Amazon UK. Didnt show till 8.10am. Then the link kept crashing the site. Finally worked at 8.15 placed the order then the page crashed. Got confirmation by email. Page won't load now. Also tried xbox store, added to cart, on checkout it crashed and then it said I had reached my maximum order number and couldn't add it to my basket after that. So glad I got the email from Amazon confirming the order, Phew! Now the wait begins...
If I was getting next gen this year, I wouldve stood in line at least 4hrs considering the huge demand.
An hour? That doesn't seem too long to be honest compared to some other things.
Especially when you compare the times of camping in front of stores for midnight ps3 launch :o those were the days :p
UK retailer GAME says it plans to close 40 stores following a review of its property portfolio, unless it can convince landlords to reduce rents.
why should landlords reduce GAME property rent... there a risk for starters, already gone bust, and started up again...

I would say it sucks for those who are losing their jobs but fukk GAME, the one by me has the worst staff I've ever seen.
Years ago, game was alright, It's where I bought a lot of classic games, but over the years they became somewhere for me to completely avoid. For starters they immediately would clear out the pre-owned old games and consoles the second the next gen ones would come out. You could argue space was an issue, but they still would waste space on shit merch.
Gamestation would keep the retro games, but what happened? Game took over them and shut it down.
Then, the prices went up - £10 more than supermarkets or online. "Well they're a smaller chain, they can't take that much off the RRP", maybe so, but £10? Nah, greed. Next, sometimes they wouldn't stock a game which should've been popular enough to be in a game store, but not a supermarket - Out of touch.
Game should've died a long time ago.
Is Frys still around or did they close down? I remember hearing of them alot at one time for games.
business must be slow lately. Jokes aside how stupid was it to have a store for just 1 platform.
Flame bait!
Next-gen consoles did not anticipate the "drought" currently.
I agree though...this store was bound to failure from the moment of conception by limiting itself in such a way.
GAME would never buy into this on a regular basis we all know how much they love to extract the most profit possible.
MS is pushing their own Microsoft stores, ala Apple, selling all things Microsoft of late so this concept seems a bit dated. No doubt they originally were behind this idea to test the market but I don't think a single platform based video game only store can long term be successful. I am sure MS decided to stop any kind of monetary support to sponsor the GAME store and thus why GAME decided to pull the plug on this outlet.
