Save energy with neroo!

Neroo is a search engine with an idea of saving power while you search!
Each page is displayed in black which lets your monitor consume less energy! And don't worry about what will show up in your searchs, it uses the same search engine as google!

Why black ? It has been demonstrated with several studies that a page of dark color on the monitor consumes about 25% less energy than a blank white page. This is because the black pixels are nearly OFF , meaning the monitor consumes less and saves energy/costs. There is million searches every day. If a search takes about 10 seconds, that means 550,000 hours of research every day... that could be a saving of 15 watts on each monitor (according to studies) , so you could save 3,000,000 KWatt/hour in a year. That's a lot of energy. Start saving energy now.

We know that intense white light causes tired eyes. A lot of people spend many hours a day in front of a monitor. With Neroogle.us, they will be more rested at the end of the day.

Lame
Holy crap...who approved this. 3/4 of the worlds computer monitors are already LCD which would see NO benefit from this.... On a CRT the 'savings' are between 5 and 20% not 25% BTW.

You could just use black Google too, blackle.com

This is stupid and not true. A black page consumes as much energy as a white one, its all in how monitors are designed. They are thinking of introducing an alpha portion to each pixel in an lcd screen to make this true, but it currently isnt.

But they commented that it didn't actually save any power and was designed to raise awareness instead.

this is bs since, the pixels are still energized, this would only be true for OLED displays.

When copying text from the source article make sure you read over the text and edit it if necessary. A good example is when a site writes "We" or "I" , as this should then be replaced with the site's or person's name, or you can quote the source.
