An F-Zero game for both 3DS and Wii U? Hope this is true! Sounds like a perfect little surprise for E3, at any rate!

Concertoine3688d ago (Edited 3688d ago )

Unfortunately, not the case. This is a GBA game that i own right now. Its not the best game, not worth the money they'll ask for it, but still pretty good.
Just saying, if they made a new f-zero, they need to make it in beautiful 1080p on Wii U. Maybe make a companion game on 3ds, but dont let the 3ds version drag the wii u down.
They mention this in the article, but they totally mislead in the first paragraph. What the hell...

wonderfulmonkeyman3688d ago

Aww, that's a shame.
Oh well, maybe they'll take the GP Legends surname and rebrand it for a couple of new games in the future or something?

Concertoine3688d ago (Edited 3688d ago )

Isn't this already coming in April...?
Edit: nevermind, another GBA F-Zero in April

wonderfulmonkeyman3688d ago

So if it's a different F-Zero, then what's the one you own?

Concertoine3688d ago (Edited 3688d ago )

Theres 3 F-Zero games on GBA. Yeah, 3.
F-Zero Maximum Velocity is the one coming in April
F Zero GP Legend is the i own
Thres also a japan-only sequel to GP Legend

Nintendo have only confirmed Maximum Velocity. The fact that this was rated means GP Legend could be coming soon too.

Ide love to see a new fzero game on the Wiiu and also one on the 3ds too. Lets hope Nintendo bring us one this generation as I still love the snes and gamecube versions.

No love for the N64 version?

I think it is unlikely we will ever see a new F-Zero for the reason that the 'casuals' are killing the industry. Another GTA, COD, Assassins Creed or annual sports franchise, sure, as for anything slightly unfamiliar with the masses, forget it!

Take the Nintendo Wii for example...'gamers' hated it because it didnt stick to the boundaries, it defied convention, only traditional controllers and semi-realistic games from here on in the casuals cried.

mcstorm3688d ago

I do love the N64 version just don't have it but have the SNES version on my WiiU and the cube version as still have my cube.

I don't know about not seeing it I think Nintendo are doing well so far with the WiiU as im loving playing some of the games they have given us so far and cant get enough of DK at the moment.

Bonerboy3688d ago

Thank heavens for the Australian Classification Board. I was going to buy/play this but clearly it's just too violent. I'll just stick to the "Justin Timberlake Makeover" game. I can blow a whole evening on that one and with no 'mild impact violence' either, no sir.

I remember the old mode7 graphics back in the day!!

Ex-Nintendo designer says no new F-Zero due to Mario Kart, low sales & high costs

F-Zero has been a dormant franchise for a couple of decades now. In fact, if it weren’t for the obvious appearances that Captain Falcon has been making in Super Smash Bros. games, you could get the impression that Nintendo has forgotten all about the series.

Have a new F-Zero hit within the first 2 years of Switch 2 and watch it sell away.

Immagaiden303d ago

Can’t believe Nintendo chose a remaster for Cruise N Blast over F-Zero GX

GhostScholar303d ago

I wish they would see the license then.

Knightofelemia303d ago

Maybe Nintendo should learn to drop the prices on their games if they want more sales. I have seen games that are 4 years old on store shelves at full price.

Rockstar303d ago

I've had treasure tracker for the switch bookmarked since it was released waiting for the price to hit my sweet spot of 30 bucks...still waiting...

blackblades303d ago

We haven't seen a lot of franchise's from Nintendo. Mario will always stay as the shit stain of Nintendo. Mario games are fun and Kirby but some times you get tired of seeing Mario everywhere literally everywhere. They are playing it safe.

It's Time for a New F-Zero Game

F-Zero is one of Nintendo's most neglected franchises, but the high-speed racing title could stand out from Mario Kart and utilize modern graphics.

We are probably only getting a new one when Miyamoto dies.

ZeekQuattro483d ago

There's a rumor GX is being ported over but we know how that goes.

Minute Man 721483d ago

No....the last one sold like 20k or something lower that a limbo pole

z2g483d ago

It is, but it’s a bummer it would most likely be held back by Nintendos weak hardware

Top 20 Soundtracks From the 16-Bit Era

In the 16-bit era, game devs and composers could finally change the type of tones used in the music, simulating a wider array of instruments and creating a whole lot of great soundtracks in the process.

It wasn’t easy picking out the best of the best because there were so many great ones. Even middle-of-the-road soundtracks seemed to deserve a bump if the game was just that damn good, and so many from that era are that damn good!

Here's the Ghetto Gamer list of top 20 soundtracks from the 16-bit era.
