The Amazing Spider-Man 2 PS4 Video Walkthrough

Playstation Blog :

"Since taking over as stewards of the Spider-Man console gaming franchise, we’ve seized the opportunity to explore new territory with each game release. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on PS3 and PS4 created a great opportunity to build and improve on something rather than starting from a blank slate.

The gameplay walkthrough we’ve prepared for you today shows off some of the ways we’ve gone about doing that, but I’d also like to briefly flesh out some of those details with a little more context.

The new mechanics of web-swinging are more than just a visual tick, and that’s why we often start off pointing them out. Controlling separate sides of Spider-Man with separate sides of your brain has a great psychological effect, and it really immerses you even deeper into your character, particularly when you have to decide to use the right or left trigger based on the physical location of buildings as you swing through the city.

this is the Ps4 version.....is it bad for me to have seen infamous and the upcoming batman to really think i am sure activision can do better graphically. i mean this game is just how can i put it UGLY. instead of this i would much rather pick up a hd remake of spiderman 2

Derekvinyard133733d ago

This game looks like a bargain bin title but some parts look cool 2:20 wardrobe look like a nice idea

AngelicIceDiamond3733d ago

Buyin it.

I"m a huge Spidey fan so I'm getting it.

Never looks so fun being Spiderman.

Never really played a spidey Game, or haven't in years really, but this looks awesome.

I wouldn't pay full price for it, but I'd definitely get this at some point for PS4.

* How can you guys complain ? That city, when he gets lower too it is more detailed than most cities in games.

It's like people ONLY look for bad things in games.

NO wonder I have a ton of fun gaming, I usually focus on the good.

mkis0073732d ago

To me it seems they are going for a comic book style than an ultra realistic style. I kinda like it. Probably buy it on impulse.

OwnageDC6503733d ago (Edited 3733d ago )

Looks nice but I was expecting better and that pop-in is pretty bad.

Dark113733d ago

It looks bland and lifeless.

GarrusVakarian3733d ago (Edited 3733d ago )

That was my first thought, it has a very "muddy" colour palette. Very bland. It's a shame, because the web swinging and the combat looks pretty good.

I guess it doesn't help that im currently playing Infamous SS, it makes this look like a last gen game in comparison.

wow looks like shit..sorry only next gen graphics and gameplay for me

Beenox on the Trials and Tribulations of Developing a Spider-Man Game

OnlySP spoke to Beenox co-studio head and creative director Thomas Wilson about the company’s work on Spider-Man games. Between 2001 and 2007, Beenox did not develop a single original game. Instead, the studio worked as a porting house. Beenox’s experience with movie tie-ins led to the studio’s original work on The Bee Movie in 2007 and Monsters vs. Aliens in 2009, and its experience porting Spider-Man games resulted in the studio being handed the reigns to develop original Spider-Man titles in 2010.

Nice read. Wilson's candor is refreshing. He flat out says Activision did not give Beenox the budget, resources, or the time they needed. Really is too bad Activision squandered their opportunities with the Spider-man franchise. They could have made some really great games. Activision being Activision.

Mister-Zay2106d ago

I wonder if we could have gotten better Destiny games if Bungie didn't go to Activision.

Profchaos2106d ago

Undoubtedly the quality would be much higher

UltraNova2106d ago

Activision's quick buck -low quality policy at its best. No wonder the first Spiderman game made by a competent dev with all the time and money needed turned out to be a stellar game overall that did justice to the source material...

Profchaos2106d ago

Activision being activision they dismantled neversoft probably the best studio they ever owned and they ran spiderman, Tony hawk, guitar hero and debeatably cod into the ground.

They have had a number of mega ips in their stable but they continue to pump out uninspired sequals for them until everyone grows tired.

Happy to see spiderman get another life with insomniac.

shuvam092106d ago (Edited 2106d ago )

Always felt the same...
Beenox Spidey games felt like they put effort into it...
But we all know that Activision is no Sony when it comes to budget, expectation and patience for these type of games...

Always felt bad for this team. They did a lot of things right, but Activision screwed them over at every turn.

Don’t forget about Spider Man 2 The PC Version which is worse than the console version. Web of Shadow PS2 version is also the worse than PS3/X360.

Edito2111d ago

It's just me or the title is misleading?

UnSelf2111d ago

at first read it appears so, but no it's grammatically sound

Inzo2111d ago

Best Spider Man game to date has to be Spider Man 2.
Worst Spider Man game to date I will have to go with The Amazing Spider Man 2.

vork772111d ago

i like The Amazing Spider-Man 1 game

antz11042110d ago

Me too, totally doesnt belong on the list.

GoldeneyeOO72110d ago

The absolute WORST Spider Man game is, by far, the PSVR installment. I'd have more fun playing with dog shit than that game.
