Dark Souls 2 is the latest edition in the infamous Souls series. The Souls series is best known for its challenging gameplay; the game even tells you in one of the first cinematics that you will die and lose all of your souls multiple times. Souls are the currency for the game, you use them to level up, buy and upgrade items and also purchase spells. Basically everything in the game revolves around them. The catch is that when you die you drop all of your souls, lose a percentage of your life and lose some online capabilities. If you die before retrieving your lost souls, they’re gone forever. This encourages a careful play style that is integral to beating the game.
