On Veronica Mars, the titular teen sleuth often played defender of the underdog, standing up for the downtrodden in a town severely lacking a middle class. So it’s fitting that when the show was cancelled and facing the prospect of a major movie studio green lighting a film based on a cult television series cancelled after three seasons, it was the fans turn to put on their Mars Investigations hats and save the day for their beloved underdog, donating their hard-earned money to the crowdfunding site, Kickstarter to ensure they’d get to see the plucky P.I. solve the case one last time after half a decade of waiting.
