How To: Update Xbox One Controller Firmware

Due to the March System Update for Xbox One it's wise to update your Xbox One controller firmware, in this short video I show you how to do this. You need to do this for all of your Xbox One controllers, new or old.

What is amazing is the way software is built into the controller to allow for updates to make the sticks and other features better as they go along into the future. Really glad this function is built in.

Thank God for Respawn discovering the problems with the XB one controller with their new game before launch and persuading Microsoft to optimise it for Titanfall. I just hope this doesn't have too much of an impact on non-shooter games. Microsoft cleverly designed the firmware of the controller to be updatable, but it will be a hassle to go through this process every time you want to get optimum settings for different game genres.

I don't think he meant it like that. He most likely meant that he didn't know controllers can receive updates.

I was just as surprised that headphones could be updated when I found the same can be done with controllers.

I decided to update my controller while watching the video

and when he said "xbox, go to settings" my kinect picked it up and went to settings. Haha. I hardly had to do anything
