Activision European Publishing today unveiled the pre-order bonus for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC, but not for Wii U. Web-heads who buy the game early through GAME will receive the Web Threads Suit Pack, a DLC bundle making available four sleek, and super-powered suits for Spidey’s wardrobe on launch day.
Let's celebrate Stan Lee the best way gamers know how, by looking at his most memorable virtual appearances. Excelsior!
OnlySP spoke to Beenox co-studio head and creative director Thomas Wilson about the company’s work on Spider-Man games. Between 2001 and 2007, Beenox did not develop a single original game. Instead, the studio worked as a porting house. Beenox’s experience with movie tie-ins led to the studio’s original work on The Bee Movie in 2007 and Monsters vs. Aliens in 2009, and its experience porting Spider-Man games resulted in the studio being handed the reigns to develop original Spider-Man titles in 2010.
Nice read. Wilson's candor is refreshing. He flat out says Activision did not give Beenox the budget, resources, or the time they needed. Really is too bad Activision squandered their opportunities with the Spider-man franchise. They could have made some really great games. Activision being Activision.
Always felt bad for this team. They did a lot of things right, but Activision screwed them over at every turn.
TechRaptor's Dan Hodges writes, "With Insomniac's highly promising Spider-Man right around the corner, let's revisit some of the web-slinger's worst video game outings."
Don’t forget about Spider Man 2 The PC Version which is worse than the console version. Web of Shadow PS2 version is also the worse than PS3/X360.
Best Spider Man game to date has to be Spider Man 2.
Worst Spider Man game to date I will have to go with The Amazing Spider Man 2.
The absolute WORST Spider Man game is, by far, the PSVR installment. I'd have more fun playing with dog shit than that game.
No one cares. Batman.
Just kidding, hopefully this game doesn't disappoint like every single other one (except S2 and US).
The web slinging mechanics seem promising, not sure about the visuals or the rest of the game.
I was looking forward to playing this game in my Wii U. Heck I was gonna pre-order it. But why are is Activision not giving us a simple costume pack. Those costumes all look really cool, and probably have their own unique abilities. Is it really that hard to add four costumes to the Wii U version? They already did it for ALL the other systems. It's not too much to ask for equal treatment. C'mon Activision!
Nintendo needs to really start kissing 3rd party's a-holes and offer them some cash to bring it on par with other platforms.
I mean nothing by this, but if the Wii U is the "Kiddy" console, wouldn't it make more sense to put the costume to go with it?
WiiU is clearly on the poster that's promoting the pre-order, so I'd say there's been some miscommunication somewhere. If they don't get it cleared up before the game releases, WiiU fans could rightfully cry false advertisement.
