Move over Gabe, Steam developers can now set their own discounts
The almighty sale scissors have been handed down from the glorious GabeN and landed in the hands of developers everywhere.
Instead of being subject to the whim of a Steam Store strategist, developers how have control over the timing and size of discounts on their games.
Reddit user Sharkiller posted a screenshot of a post detailing the new tools.
Developers can schedule their own discount – up to two months in advance, running for a maximum of two weeks – without needing to go through Valve for approval. They also have the ability to participate in an upcoming weekly deal, which features more prominently on the Steam Store.
