I think the score is pretty unfair though since most of the problems highlighted are minor and can be fixed with a patch.

To be honest, from what we've read today, the game seems like its a mess on all platforms. Not just from a technical viewpoint either....most reviewers are saying it's plain bad.....

But as always, the only opinion that matters is your own.

The PC doesn't have slowndown. How does that even make sense? It doesn't have slowdown if you have the hardware to run it at fast enough framerates. Besides I can always double vsync at 30fps and I can virtually guarantee my PC will be able to maintain above 30fps with a totally smooth frame delivery.

ACIV is quite demanding and I played that at a solid 30fps completely maxed out and it looks better than the PS4 version.

Seriously? 3/10? I have a hard time believing that this game is worse than Farming Simulator, which holds a 33/100 rating on metacritic.

I think this reviewer was just venting anger, which is the kind of approach which belongs in an Amazon.com comments section, not a review site trying to gain community respect.

Either that.... or metacritic is a sad representation of how skewed the scoring system is towards the 6-10 review scale rather than encouraging sites to actually use the full 1-10 scale in which 5 is average and 6 is actually not that bad. If sites quit ranking bad games at a 6, metacritic might actually be accurate. To me it seems that this site does not score on a basis of what metacritic review scores show.

In any case, this seems to be a bit exaggerated, but the case in general for this game. Simply put: it sucks. But it's funny to already see articles and Xbox fanboy posts ignoring that it's bad on all platforms and saying it's bad on PS4 because they developer went for 1080p. Then what's the excuse for it being bad on XB1? On PC?

I'm not saying it's a good game, and a lot of the criticism seems to be justified. I just think I could probably play through it and have a relatively good time, which would warrant at least a 6/10.
I really hate Rome 2 for example, but I'd still give it 70% for the elements which it does get right. I can see the good elements here, but I know I won't enjoy them because I expected something else.

And if the site isn't looking to gain respect for its reviews, it probably shouldn't be linked to on N4G.

It's a crap review based on clear bias and anger instead of level-headed open mindedness and objectivity.

Most of the reviews are in the 7 range, with a few 8s and 9s even. There is no way this game is a 3. The game isn't completely broken, ugly and without redeeming qualities, which is what a 3 implies.

But some people were hating on this game before we even really saw anything about it, so I didn't expect those people to be fair towards the game.

Same here, and they are gamers, not critics. I am much more likely to trust a gamer on youtube playing it than some wannabe journalist who is using the gaming media to further break into the media as a whole.

Yeah, PlayMania gave it 90/100 and I've seen several 8s as well.

Well known youtuber 'theRadBrad' is doing a walkthrough and he thinks it is the best game he's played in a while.

So, yeah, the opinions on this are all over the place. It's always best to use your own judgement. I mean, how many of you guys' favorite movies received high scores on metacritic? How many movies that received high scores are movies you don't even like? Games are no different. It's a very personal sort of thing.

People have been streaming it on twitch, that's a good place to get a feel for if you might like a game or not. You get to watch gameplay in real time (slight delay) and can even ask the person playing their honest opinions about the game as well. Twitch trumps reviews for me nowadays, because it's all right there in front of me.

Honestly, with Twitch and Youtube, reviews are entirely irrelevant. The people that post these reviews tear through games, and rather than savouring the experience, they make a list of faults and complain about them without doing the same for its good points.

To be honest, there's very few whose opinion I actually trust. While I do believe that the negative reviews show that there are definite issues with the game, TotalBiscuit seems to have enjoyed the game and our tastes normally meet up.

But I guess that's the short coming of the 1/10 scale, I just find it odd rating any working game lower than a 5.

I'd say it looks more like a 6.

I'm not buying, and its definitely based on the reviews. Though i know my 60 dollars plus tax won't matter in the grand scheme of things. But this is just piss poor for a next gen title that they had ample time to work on. They should have released a beta first, to gauge the reaction and then tweak from there. Its too late to go back and change some of the problems i heard about.#Fail

Several tiny nitpicks led to a 3. How does that make any sense? And if he's complaining about graphics, stupid enough as it is, maybe they don't look that good to him because it's on the XBOX ONE! And they STILL look good. Ever since that ridiculous Paper Mario 2 review from Gameinformer, all sorts of bull@#$% has been said to mark down games. (Especially within Gamespot.) Then again, it is one guys opinion, but his opinions don't mark a game down to a 3.
