Will Fallout 4 Succeed if it only releases on PS4, Xbox one and PC?

But if Fallout 4 did release on next gen consoles alone, would it be successful? Given the current installation base, with more than 4.2 million PS4s and 3 million Xbox One consoles at last count (which was January), would it be enough to ensure a strong return?

capitalize 'Fallout' and fix the title in general. Remove period, replace it with a question mark and remove comma.

next-gen? you mean current gen.... the ps3/360 are now LAST-GEN.

Tiechie4142d ago

While that's true. A lot of people still refer to them as next gen consoles.

Todd Howard is absolutely famous for saying "install base DOESN"T MATTER. if install base mattered, everyone be making board games because there's a hell of a lot of tables in the world." lol. so i don't doubt for a minute that Todd Howard and Bethesda's next game will be PS4/Xbox One and PC only. remember Bethesda launched Elder Scrolls: Oblivion on the Xbox360 in the first year of the consoles life, as well as on PC and then later on PS3. so i don't think anyone has to worry.

EDIT: an considering the hype for a Fallout 4 game, which has never even been announced, im sure Fallout 4 will sell more than ok.

MaxwellBuddha4142d ago

Fallout 4 (if it exists) will sell just fine.

SolidDuck4142d ago

Ya it will still do great. This is how things work. The ps2 sold a ton, do u want fallout 4 on ps2 aswell. Just dumb.

godofboobees4142d ago

Its fallout. If will succeed no matter where its released

I think i made the mistake of giving Mama Murphy too many chems. Because I could never get my settlement past 98% happiness, and it even cost me the Platinum.

Fallout 4 on Switch 2 seems inevitable, but what about Starfield?

A Fallout 4 Nintendo Switch 2 port seems like an inevitability, but what about other Bethesda RPGs like Starfield.

I think all games will end up on switch from Xbox. MS has embraced going to other platforms now if games aren't doing well on Nintendo MS may be more selective in the future

On playstation they have been quite successful

anast72d ago

I'm not sure too many people want to play Starfield.

Profchaos72d ago

Phils all but confirmed they are going in hard with the switch 2

TheColbertinator72d ago

All are welcome to Switch 2. Microsoft Games Studios is interested in long term profits and market value not petty fanboy thoughts.

Starfield is actually a RPG. Bethesda hasn't done that in a while.

GhostScholar174d ago

People acted like starfield was so less interesting than fallout and drastically different, but I call bs on that. Both are decent games, but they are both filled with the appearance of things to do and items to interact with but 99 percent are just there to be there with no significance. Fallout has better character work but they are both sort of illusions that they’re vast.

Studio has been going downhill since Skyrim. Every following game gets dumbed down more than the previous. I'll be shocked if Elder Scrolls VI even has dialogue options.

anast174d ago

Fallout 4 was bad, real bad. Starfield might even be a better RPG.

trez1082173d ago

Fallout 4 wasn’t a great fallout game per se but real bad? I don’t know maybe I’m a little biased because I replied it not long ago and had fun with it.
