Rayman Legends PS4: Includes No Wii U Special GamePad Functions - Only RemotePlay at 30FPS.

The PlayStation 4 version of Rayman Legends will support PlayStation Vita Remote Play, but the handheld can't be used by a co-op player like the Wii U GamePad in that version of the platformer, according to developer Ubisoft Montpellier.

so Wii U still the best version then?

BlackWolf4145d ago

Gameplay wise, it's the most complete, so it could be said that it is.

Neonridr4145d ago

seems like a missed opportunity since the Vita could mimick the Wii U gamepad easily.

That being said I love the Wii U version.

@Neonridr

I thought this game was out for the Vita ages ago,..? Demo seamed pretty cool and plays really amazingly on the Vita, with tapp and crap... I guess the steaming version from PS4 isn't supporting that,..(which is understandable,.. it is streaming PS4 version)

kopicha4144d ago

@Rexlex

I doubt so, it is more like a fail from the dev. It has already been done on Knack at least to say. So it is not a technical limitation over any reason.

captainexplosion4144d ago (Edited 4144d ago )

I have the WiiU and Vita versions and I think the Vita version is the best. Such an amazing and under-appreciated game.

SilentNegotiator4144d ago (Edited 4144d ago )

Well we all know how complicated the controls for the 2D Rayman games are. The other versions must feel entirely incomplete without touchscreen gamepads.

Run, jump...how do they manage to map it all?!
/s

A game you can tell yourself is superior on Wii U? Confirmed.

BoneBone4145d ago

@Neonridr - I think the point of the story is to point out that the PS4 + Vita doesn't have the required low latency for Wii U type asymmetrical game mechanics, also as pointed out by RemotePlay only being able to reach max 30fps.

Neonridr4145d ago

thanks for the clarification.

hated_individual4145d ago

Also you need PlayStation Vita to even use these features which is 200$ so its not worth it. Wii U is still definitive version...

RexLex4144d ago (Edited 4144d ago )

I would say that the Vita version is the best imo,.. because of dpad and looks mindblowing, and it is cheap.. It is like made for the handheld,..

RexLex4144d ago (Edited 4144d ago )

It is streaming to Vita from PS4 so it is 30(like every other game),..

Vita version seams to be locked 60,.. with all the touch crap and looks mindbogglingly gorgeous ,..

@down baby-jedi ,..Well get the demo for vita version,.. I guess it is quite cheap now

BABY-JEDI4144d ago

WHAT! This sounds toooo good to be true!
; )

CernaML4144d ago

Thats only for remote play.

DEEBO4144d ago

every game is on remote play is 30fps.

Activemessiah4144d ago

It makes sense since it originally was a Wii U exclusive so those functions can't exactly translate well on the ds4.

Little Big Planet, lol. No.

paddy95116d ago

LBP3 and rayman legends are the best here.

jznrpg116d ago

Puppeteer is really good. Nobody played it because it came out right before PS4 came out. When I went to pick up Puppeteer from GameStop some people were trading in their old consoles for PS4 preorder.

Will There Ever Be A New Rayman Game?

Ubisoft barely have a leg to stand on lately, so do they need to crack open the vaults and return platforming royalty to glory for some goodwill?

We need Rayman 4, they could make a great platformer game if they wanted. With the open hub levels and the like.

Better than relying on Rabbids and Assassins Creed all the time

Profchaos477d ago

Yeah agree id love a Rayman 2 style 3d platform game over another 2d platformer I know people loved legends but it never gelled with me same as Rayman 1 back in the day on PS it just felt like a average platformer with sonic and Mario offering something better on what was then last gen hardware

Terry_B477d ago

Yes..but I am sure it won't be the Rayman game fans want. Not from the company that is Ubisoft today.

mastershredder477d ago (Edited 477d ago )

Ancel is retired from games. His hoodlum/rabbid team are doing their own thing. It would not be the same if Ubisoft did.

Profchaos477d ago

Probably far more profitable to make low effort Rabbids games aimed at kids over a next Rayman

Chocoburger477d ago

Experience points, skill trees to fill up, level gating, endless menial tasks and side quests, constantly scrounging for resources. Always having to upgrade your gear. A.KA. "The Ubisoft effect".

No thanks, don't ruin Rayman's legacy.

Profchaos477d ago

Sure there will be it'll launch right alongside the next splinter cell
