Most of those PCs were using i7's and 660's or lower for the GPU. For those prices, you can get a 270x and an AMD processor that would be better for actually handling games and still be around the $700 mark.

exactly.
And they can be built for cheaper than most of those prices, its about cleverly buying components from different places.

These are horrible deals. I guess they're ok if you don't know how to build you own PC, but still you can build most of these for 25% off the asking price. The best GPU was a 660 which is solid, but everything else is struggling to keep up with the current consoles which are around half the asking price for most of these.

If you want a gamin PC build it yourself, if you don't know how pay someone who does. It's better to give $100 to someone you know for helping you out, then pay an extra $100 - $300 to a company for less power then you could be getting.

CPU:
AMD: FX 6300, FX 8320, FX 8350,
Intel: i5 3670k, i5 4670k, i7 3770k, i7 4660k.

GPU:
AMD: 7870, 7950, 7970, 7970 GHz, 7990, R9 270, R9 280, R9 290
NVIDIA: GTX 660, 660Ti, 670, 680, 690, Titan, 760, 770, 780, 780Ti,

You can go with any combination of the CPU / GPU I listed above, and you'll have a great gaming PC, above what the PS4 or XBO has to offer. Anything lower and you're better off with a console for gaming purposes.

Exactly!

I built a PC from scratch with a AMD 7870OC for $600 and best of all it can play most games at ultra "except for crysis 3" but it can play Battlefield 3 and 4 at 60fps at 1080p max!

I could have gotten away with a better deal if I waited for newegg to have there cyber Monday deals!

You dont need more then i5 for gaming.

God those are all horrible, the best gpu they offer is a 660 gtx, i have a list only system build on pcpartpicker that is about $1300(entire rebuild) after taxes and that is without skimping on quality (important) componets.

It's probably ridiculous overkill(for 1080p) if i ever build it, but i would want it to be decent for 3-5 yrs.

Bad budgeting priorities on those pre built systems. Pcpartpicker's February $1200 gaming build is alot more value oriented, can alter to fit your budget.
