Hardcore Gamer: Gridiron Thunder gained notoriety for its Kickstarter-related issues and post-release infamy for being a shockingly low-quality game, so it’s a bit of a surprise that the devs would return with a stealth release in Fullcourt Thunder.
Cliqist takes a look at the dearth of sports games that seek crowdfunding on Kickstarter.

I might be the only one, but l always thought a surfboarding game could be fun. Make it liked Amped, but instead of snowboarding you're surfing. Have crazy side games like parasailing, wake-boarding and jet skiing too.
The Android-powered gaming console OUYA has announced a new set of guidelines and rules for game developers wanting to qualify for its Free the Games Fund. OUYA’s Free the Games Fund is an attempt to get more games onto the OUYA Android console. Originally, OUYA promised to match the funds of any game receiving more than $50,000 from Kickstarter that promised to make their game exclusive to OUYA for six months. The new rules are in response to controversy swirling around a few projects that were being accused of gaming the system because of a suspiciously low backer to donation level ratio. Dungeons: The Eye of Draconus and Gridiron Thunder, a game that has been featured on our Android Kickstarter Wrap-up, were two projects that were removed from the Free the Games Fund recently, both joining Elementary, My Dear Holmes which had gotten the boot earlier.
Ouya is getting a lot of flak for this. But I don't know why. If someone is obviously gaming the system just to make money then it should be stopped. Some devs have taken their games off of Ouya in protest.
Ian DeMartino of Gamewoof writes "The thing about Kickstarters is that they are a work in progress, as such, developers are constantly putting out updates on their progress and clarifying perceived issues. However, who has the time to go back and look at all the Kickstarters that they have already seen to check if their updates are enough to convince you to back them? I would imagine not that many of you. Luckily, you have me, and I have nothing but time on my hands. With that in mind, here are some of the biggest developer updates on Kickstarters that we have already mentioned. If you were on the fence for some of them before, hopefully these updates will be enough to push you over the edge. "
