Retro Rewind: Shadow Dancer

Released in 1989 by Sega, Shadow Dancer is the sequel to the arcade classic Shinobi. Like Shinobi, Shadow Dancer is similar in mechanics to the original game. You play as a ninja, taking on a group of enemies in order to save kids by jumping up and down through levels from a higher and lower layer while throwing shurikens, rockets, using swords and special ninja powers to defeat opponents and kill bosses. Back at a time when ninjas were the cool guys and pirates were something nobody thought much of aside from Captain Hook and how camp that whole thing was where he spent his life chasing the boy-that-never-grew-up and we wonder why nobody called Social Services and locked this boy-hungry nonce, away in the first place.
