"As all good things must come to an end, so does 2013. Nevertheless, this past year will sure go down as one of the more impressive ones in our industry. Not only did the 8th generation of gaming begin, but 2013 also saw the release of yet another batch of overly impressive titles, which are sure to amaze pretty much everyone.
As mentioned above, the 8th generation of gaming has finally arrived, bringing with it the long-awaited PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. The systems don’t currently “swim” in a “pool of titles,” but there are enough games worth creating a list for… and a winner, obviously."
The Dead Rising series has enjoyed a long and storied history over the years, but which game in the series is best?
Here's how to find the Returnal Resogun Easter egg location. Developer Housmarque pays homage to its PS4 launch title in the latest PS5 exclusive.
It's kind of crazy that they've gone from Resogun to Returnal in just one generation. I would've never thought that they'd end up making a big budget third person shooter published by Sony.
Even crazier is that they temporarily gave up on arcade games altogether due to poor sales https://www.polygon.com/201... and then focused on a battle royale game instead for a while (Stormdivers).
Returnal is a nice way for them to retain their arcade DNA - they got to both course correct back to their old style to some extent and adapt to the market at the same time.
Over the last week, Jake has been going back to the Dead Rising 2 Off The Record remaster and has been an absolute blast. When he was 15 he first got his Xbox 360 and Dead Rising with it, it was unlike any other experience. It made him wonder though, what happened to the Dead Rising series.
Interesting timing. This retrospective was released just a few days ago: https://youtu.be/Et-cKSrWuc...
They took away the depth and charm of the game that made it fun and interesting, and made it into a generic zombie killing game.
This was the series the got me to buy an Xbox 360. The first one was so good. It still had horror elements. As it went on it became kind of a parody. Never forget getting Zombie Genecider achievement and then restarting the game to get the Mega Buster. That thing was monstrous against enemies.
you know what was so funny is how gamers expected launch titles to be amazing, i mean what more than 2 Decades of Gaming history didn't teach us anything?
no matter how easy to develop for consoles are, it still takes time to master the tech and really make something amazing. For all the talk about 2014 games that will be great i can guarantee it that games that come in 2016-2017 will be much better than 2013-2014 games
xbox360 and ps3 were the same way and ps4/xbox one will also follow the same time line
assassins creed is really good actually.
