China’s game market took in $13 billion in 2013, PC games generate way more than mobile

Games in Asia: Ever wonder what China’s video game market is worth? About 83.17 billion RMB ($13 billion), according to China’s GPC, a committee that tracks and oversees the games industry, and gaming site 17173. That’s the total amount the industry brought in in revenues this year, and it represents nearly 40 percent year-on-year growth. China’s games industry is growing like a weed, and here’s the chart to prove it:

PC da Winner! --------- but nothing beat a console exclusives ;-)

I have to admit Fighter Within is pretty good... /s

ExPresident4192d ago

Yup. China's gaming is so awesome, definately something to look forward to. I mean, they are all enjoying Battlefield 4 right...

Oh wait the Government decides what you can play.

Bladesfist4192d ago

And Sony and MS decide what you play on consoles.

Studio-YaMi4192d ago

What the hell does that have to do with anything !? :\

He's right,China has so many restrictions on gaming and they choose what is allowed and what is not,how is that even related to what game companies offer on their consoles !?

You're logic is failing .. hard!

Irishguy954192d ago

Yes, in China the government force these restrictions on you. In the west, people actually ****ing choose these restrictions via Sony and MS. And have the gull to complain about China. But hey, it's the principle right?

ExPresident4192d ago

That statement is complete fail in itself. I can still play the games I want where I want. I don't have the government choosing for me. The mere fact that there is huge indie support on both the primary gaming consoles makes your argument void. China outright banned Battlefield 4.

@Irishguy95

I can choose which console I want to play on or not at all. If I don't like their setup I can play on Origin, or Steam or iOs/Android devices if I want, the point here is choice. Read my above text and let me know how you can even compare my choice with how the Chinese Government outright bans games they dont feel you should be able to play.

Muffins12234191d ago

Not those type of pc games...they play the free to play ones with the micro transaction. You know the ones we all hate...

Unlimax4192d ago (Edited 4192d ago )

And the reason is : Blade & Soul :]
The servers are still Crashing and barely handle the amount of players
Dam , why Can't NCSoft hurry up and release this game to the western market !
