Connected Digital World: War Thunder PS4 review

Connected Digital World writes: Recently I went away and was separated from my PS4 for nearly a whole week. As you can imagine it was a traumatic experience but I made it through. Despite being very excited about the console release of the War Thunder beta (especially given all the PS4 titles that have been delayed) I was still surprised that even with all the next-gen goodness waiting for me it was War Thunder I couldn’t wait to get back on.

Best F2P game on the PS4 at the moment by far.

My only complaint (if you can call it that) is you can't choose the type of battle you go into (Ground strike, dominations etc) or the maps you play on.

Why wouldn't you play on PC that's where it started over a year ago an. Its been a blast, what is wrong with this on PC? I like the control options moreso on the PC, and I have played it on my PS4

This is true. It is so much better on pc. Mainly just menu navigation but the console version is horrible and mouse and keyboard kicks the shit out of gamepad for this game.

Still a great game on ps4 but not a perfect score.

So he loves the game but says he would never had play if where it start off or where it better at. What if it didn't come to consoles would you deny your self the experience or just say it sucks like most do

This has touch pad flight controls. You are aware of that, huh? PC version doesn't.

It will only get better when they introduce support for cross platform play between PC and PS4, this game has an extremely bright future.

The only problem being that is the future :(

Still waiting for this game to release in NA. I can't wait to get my hands on this. Wish Sony would keep us a little better informed as to when some of these PSN games will be releasing...Oh well, at least Don't Starve releases next Tuesday.

Yeah I wish for that too, I know I can download from the Euro store but I would just assume wait until NA since surely it will be soon and then with the NA version I can pop a few dollars in to the game.

The problem with that is, you can't play it with the US account. It also uses the email connected to the PSN account to log into the gajin account. You can only play it with the EU account - both PSN and Gajin.

I've tried hard to get into this game but I have no idea what the hell is going on most of the time. Hopefully they redesign the UI so it's more console friendly when it comes out of beta.

You just need to play with it a bit.

The touchpad acts as a mouse, R2 to select items. :)

How can I flip my sticks? If I fly with my right thumb I need the throttle on the left stick. How can I do that? I see a "Change Sticks" options...but that doesn't work, does it?

In order for this to be a 5/5, in my opinion, is to instate more sim like controls that are gamepad friendly and react better. The sim controls, as is, are loose and dont make me feel connected to my actions on the screen.

Id give it a 4/5, though.

Isa_scout: create a secondary european account with any England address you find on Yahoo or Google. You can then download the game and play it on your NA account. You can then delete your European account, if you want. Or you can leave it for future EU first releases.

I can't play this with my US account. It doesn't allow me to start the game on that one.

You should be able to if you turn on "activate this as my primary PS4 account" on the non-US account that you downloaded the game with. If you have both your US and your non-US accounts set to "activate as my primary PS4", you shouldn't have issues.

I've been playing on my Canadian account. Just an FYI.

i don't game much on my laptop, so if it wasn't for PS4 i would never play this game. instead i'm excited for another solid game on PS4 that i don't have to pay for.

Maybe the PS4 $400 experience is enough for some people?

I have a PC and I play with a joystick on simulation battles on max settings but that is my choice and it is fairly expensive at entry level.

If you want to play with a US account make a EU account. It worked on the PS3 and it works on the PS4.
