PlayStation Japan President Would Like the Tales Of Series to Evolve to PS4

The announcement of the next game in the Tales Of series Tales of Zestiria disappointed quite a few fans, especially in Japan, because the game is slated for release on PS3 and not on Sony’s upcoming PS4.

What caused many to believe that the upcoming game would be on PS4 was a video message by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia President Hiroshi Kawano aired just before the announcement, during which the PS4 was mentioned several times.

Yep, as expected that PS4 is going more popular

Abriael4201d ago

Hopefully they'll announce at least a port...

The only thing I miss from my childhood is playing JRPGS on my laptop and making a couple with an enigine. I am a sucker for those games.

Edit: oh I will buy every JRPG ever produced for my PS4 if they do port the Tales if series.

king_george4201d ago

Im not dissapointed by the release platform at all since im trying to finish my ps3 games before making the jump to ps4. This is just another one to add to the list woohoo :D

I love that Namco are taking their time. They have a much bigger user base to work with with the PS3, and they can take their time working with the PS4 and getting used to the system so they're not rushing out their first title on it. By the time it's done, a lot more people will have the console (including me) so more people can enjoy it rather than if they decided to make Zestiria on it and release it in the first year or so.

Lucreto4201d ago

They already said the next Tales is in pre-production on the PS4. After this one it will be on the PS4.

Very, VERY exciting! I hope they take advantage of the power and maybe go into a new design esthetic, maybe try push the anime designs in different directions (more like a Vampire Hunter D style or even something like Appleseed).

The Tales Of series are some of the best RPGs I've ever played, and the characters are a big reason for that. I don't think I played a single game in the series that I didn't enjoy. Rest in peace.

Snookies12452d ago (Edited 452d ago )

Damn, that sucks to hear... His designs were always wonderful.

H9452d ago

RIP, sheade some great designs, man it's one after the other this year

FinalFantasyFanatic451d ago

We're 3 months into the year and I feel like we're taking nothing but L's.

autobotdan452d ago

Wow she was the character designer for Tales of Destiny one of my favorites of all time =(

scorpio_2049452d ago

I love the Tales games. Phantasia will always be my favorite. Ironically I felt like as the series progressed the character design became too “anime cliche.”

Dragon's Dogma and XCOM 2 are the best deals. The rest of the games are still overpriced. I would say 8.99 is good for AC: Origins, but you need to put $10 more into MTs to avoid the grind that slows down the story. So, the game is actually 18.99.

It's not on this list, but Pathfinder: Kingmaker is only $9.99. This is a deal if you have a current gen. consoles, as it runs poorly on prev. gen.

hangdang1100d ago

I beat AC origins without grinding or spending any money on MTX?

anast1100d ago

I had to grind for side missions. So, did many other people.

Has anyone been able to login in to the ps store on ps5 I haven't been able to in days and my network is good.

RedDevils1100d ago

Reset or shutdown your PS5. I always can go login to PS5, in fact just a moment ago.

HeliosHex1100d ago

Ok thanks I'll try that

HeliosHex1099d ago

Hey thanks again. Although the shutdown/reset didn't work i found that resetting the mdm and hub did the trick. I use a Lan network instead of wifi. In case anyone has a similar setup and problem.

RedDevils1099d ago

I forgot to mention about the router reset, that usually do the trick when it come to network problems happen with iphone/android. btw np

It’s really it’s own story , but like anything takes some inspirations from other sources, fantastic game so far, you absolutely don’t need to have played other tales games at all to enjoy this to its fullest.
