Gamedaily writes: "The portable gaming scene has had its fair share of excellent role-playing games over the years, but it has never seen anything like The World Ends With You. While clearly falling into several standard role-playing conventions, it distinguishes itself in a number of original ways. The most obvious is the setting. Instead of throwing you into yet another fantasy or post-apocalyptic sci-fi realm, this one takes place in modern day Tokyo, within the confines of the famous Shibuya district. You'll take on the role of Neku Sakuraba, a reluctant hero heavily influenced by the Emo scene who is thrust into "the Game" against his will. Playing alongside his giddy and annoyingly cute partner, Shiki Masaki, they must race against time to defeat the Noise in the UnderGround (UG) realm or risk being erased."
Major 2023 game anniversaries include The World Ends With You, Mario Kart Wii, and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, among many others

Alex DS. from Link Cable Gaming writes: "The little handheld that could was a dream for role-playing game fans, with both major blockbusters and cult-classics making the DS a handheld you always wanted to have in your backpack. "
I might check it out to see how it plays.
I have been playing it and it's a really fun game. The combat is cool and has plenty of moves to pick from for the bottom screen and you can also keep tabs on the top screen for even better combos and chains. The story is fun too and gives you enough info to make you want to play more but also not enough to know what's fully going on. If you have a DS you should really give it a go
