Batman: Arkham Origins was one of the more low-key dissapointments of 2013, but is all hope for the game truly lost?
Licensing issues often leave many games forgotten. But all that aside, here are 10 classic games desperate for remasters.
The getaway
Smugglers run
Dead to rights
Worlds scariest police chases
Sure I’m missing a few.
Ape Escape.
Fun game but, wow, you need a college degree to understand the controls.
A remaster would also save you from having to constantly fight the camera.
Keep the music though. Those drum and bass tracks fit really well and haven't aged. Made me think that more games could work well with drum and bass tracks, but unfortunately it's a somewhat niche genre now.
Xenogears, Xenosaga trilogy, Vagrant Story, Drakengards, Parasite Eve and many more but I’ll start with those
Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is almost here, but I can't revisit the best Arkhamverse game on PS5 without sacrificing quality.
Not a fan of Orgins. Blame it on the absence of Conroy & Hamill. Blame it on the lack of atmosphere compared to Asylm. Hell blame it the devs thst dicked over Wii U owners like me that purchased the game only for support be dropped as a thank you to me. It's better than Knight but that's not saying much. I don't care for that entry either.
Even though its not the best arkham game in the series, its still an enjoyable game in its own right. What it do really well at though, was the crime investigations scenes. Which imo, were the best of the franchise.
I don’t know about best game but it definitely has the best story and boss fights.
Never played it and recently I've finally tried it via cloud on psn. It's not the best for sure, but it ain't bad either.
Batman: Arkham Origins launched 10 years ago today, and sadly doesn't stand the test of time as well as its predecessors.
I fail to grasp why this title is worse compared to Arkham City (according to the article) as the author didn't provide any argument to explain why aside from that it felt the bigger map compared to Arkham Asylum made the experience less tight.
More importantly, the author seems like he never played Arkham City since he described the game as linear (alongside Asylum).
It was an 18 month development cycle by a brand new team of people at a brand new studio.
If I would have known that when I first saw the game, I might have lowered my expectations a bit.
It just didn't feel right when I played it, I wasn't enjoying it like the first 2. I also felt it was just the same as Arkham City but rather than improved it was worse like they took a step backwards with the series. Maybe it was too soon after Arkham City.
It wasn't made by Rocksteady
I loved how they marketed the game as an origin story of a very young batman vs black mask... then we get the same batman vs joker game we've already played.
It was all just more of the same. Everything felt like it was just another trip down AC road.
It all had a bad been there done that feel to it and even though I like the first two games this one just felt like added content and not a separate game.
Prequels are starting to feel like the "Outer Space" movies of the game industry. You know when a horror movie has exhausted it's plot, story and everything else so then they decide to move that character into space. Jason, Hellraiser, Critters, Leprechaun, etc, etc.
