Review - The Amazing Spider-Man (PlayStation Vita) (What Mobile)

What Mobile - You couldn’t be blamed for writing off Vita version of The Amazing Spider-Man at first glance. We’ve seen ports of console games fare pretty poorly on Sony’s handheld so far. If PS2 hits like Jak and Daxter have suffered then what chance does an open-world blockbuster action game have?

As it turns out, quite a good one.

A 16-month late port?! Oh my...

Anon19744183d ago (Edited 4183d ago )

So it's not worth playing because it came out over a year ago? Not sure I'm following. Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath came out in 2005 and I love that they ported that over to the Vita.

SilentNegotiator4183d ago

Who said it wasn't worth playing? The review says it's good and I just said "oh my..."

Anon19744183d ago (Edited 4183d ago )

You pointed out the date and said "Oh my.." Why does it matter? Again, I'm not following. What on earth does the original release date have to do with anything?

SilentNegotiator4183d ago (Edited 4183d ago )

You jumped straight to "So it's not worth playing?"

I just thought it was surprising that they took that long to port a MOVIE game. That doesn't happen very often.

Anon19744183d ago (Edited 4183d ago )

Well, you didn't say that now, did you?

You still haven't explained why the length of time it took to bring the game to the Vita even matters. Why point it out even? If you don't want people to jump to conclusions about your intended meaning you could be a little more precise in your comments. I was just fishing for clarification as to the meaning of your initial comment. You've provided one, but it still doesn't make any sense to me why it was worth pointing out. :)

SilentNegotiator4183d ago

Like I said, it's rare to see a movie game get ported 16 months later.

While i appreciate the gesture.... all of these retro classics have been made available everywhere else. I am hoping to see some other Activision properties make their way out of the shackles of the 5th, 6th and 7th gen. Licensing be damned... bring back the Transformers Cybertron games.

P_Bomb3d ago

Love the Cybertron games! TF games have been shit lately. Would love to see that era revisited. I even did the multiplayer!

MrBaskerville2d ago

Is the retro classics for all consoles?

Obscure_Observer3d ago

Metaphor on Gamepass just announced! O.o

Seriously, this is the best generation of Xbox ever!!!

We can´t catch a freaking break from awesome games arriving all the time!!!

Deathdeliverer3d ago

It’s a HELL of a game. If you like JRPGs in the family of Persona, you will be in heaven… that is until you hear the various battle music…. then you’ll be somewhere BEYOND heaven!

Just finished Clair Obscur. This should be fun.

Only a big company that has interest in gaming like Microsoft or Tencent could have acquired Activision. Extremely low interest rates at that time certainly helped.

Not exactly sure that a merger with EA would’ve benefited any of their franchises or gamers. I imagine it would’ve been like the activision blizzard one were each publisher retains their own identity. So Activison-Blizzard-EA. But who knows.

fsfsxii100d ago

If it was owned by EA, COD could’ve disappeared a looong time ago. They have no clue how to manage franchises.

Gamingsince198187d ago

It's a shame EA didn't buy them then, COD should die, it's past its prime and has been since black ops 2, I started playing it when cod 4 mw first came out and it has been downhill since.

thank goodness we dodged that landmine 😒
