One of the best games of 2013 of any console

dafegamer4161d ago

Easily, tied with Tlou, Super Mario 3d world and Zelda as my Top 5 games of 2013 :D

You named most of the GOTY contenders.

I've heard mostly good things about this game.

Glad I brought a PS Vita so I can enjoy these games. I have had PS+ for a while now, so I already own so many Vita games and all of them are ones I want to play.

DEATHxTHExKIDx4161d ago

considering the nominations Tearaway wins hands down. The only competition is Rayman and thats a port.

TongkatAli4161d ago

You like Vita news don't you XD rofl!

DEATHxTHExKIDx4161d ago (Edited 4161d ago )

Nothing wrong with Vita news. I just think there should be more options. I mean divekick srsly? why not killzone or soul sacrifice..etc?

I plan to get a Vita this upcoming holiday.

Guacamelee > Rayman Legends

Rayman Legends was kind of disappointing after playing Rayman Origins.

Ys beats both. Dat soundtrack, DAT SOUNDTRACK EPICCCCSAUCE!

Dat Ancient Land

I apologize for the excessive use of "dat"

admiralvic4161d ago

I like how Tearaway wasn't the highest reviewed game (in fact, it was average among the nominated titles) and still won. I also like how Killzone Mercenary didn't even make the cut. Different opinions and personal preference aside, it really should have been listed before Stealth Inc. or Divekick.

SilentNegotiator4161d ago

Meh, it got a leg up for being an exclusive. A one point difference isn't necessarily as important as how the game fits in the big picture.

Gamespot also gave the GOTY to Demon's Souls instead of Uncharted 2 Among Thieves in 2009
As subtle the thin line is both were creative, original, ground breaking games that deserve all the accolades.

The industry needs studios like Media Molecule keeping the spirit of fresh , original, creative, critically and commercially acclaimed games.

SpiralTear4161d ago

Demon's Souls took a lot of risks and they paid off big time. I love Uncharted 2, but as far as being creative and challenging the norm, Demon's Souls did far more.

cleft54161d ago

Thats because Gamespot is a joke. Look at those list of games, no Zero's Virtue anywhere on that list.

admiralvic4161d ago (Edited 4161d ago )

How do you expect a 2012 title to win best Vita game of 2013?

Protagonist4161d ago

@cleft5

Agree, Gamespot is joke and always been.

SpiralTear4161d ago

Very much like how Red Dead Redemption beat out the perfect score Super Mario Galaxy 2 in 2010, Gamespot seems to have this combined staff consensus determining the Game of the Year, yet the reviews are written by individuals.

That makes it very hard to determine their verdict on a game's quality when the opinions rarely coordinate or even contradict each other.

admiralvic4161d ago

Indeed. I only commented about it (I don't really mind it TOO much) because the page shows all the scores. It's one thing to have to research and flat out seeing a lower score win. However, I had a lot of issues with the games they listed.

With games like Killzone, Soul Sacrifice, Muramasa and many many more, it seems backwards to list games like Stealth Inc and Divekick.

I did not like the ending and some aspects of the last stages.
But still the game is awesome.

Killzone Mercenary os my favorite Vita game of the year.

The only PlayStation dev I care about tbh.

Inverno370d ago

Dayum did I hit a nerve. Sorry for not liking most of this gens games coming from PS, not really doe.

Cacabunga371d ago

Hopefully doesn’t take them a complete gen to release it

TheColbertinator371d ago

Good. Something not boring, not one of those "make your own game" crap and also on Steam would be nice.

I too like to look for things in the wrong places.

Dreams Dev Media Molecule Says Layoffs Impact Planned Community and Curation Support

IGN writes: "Media Molecule has said the layoffs at the Sony-owned studio have affected plans for ongoing community and curation support in Dreams."

Inverno405d ago

How self sustained can DREAM be when it's basically stuck on PS4? I don't think it's even gotten a PS5 upgrade. Ending support for what is essentially a game making engine is basically death. SONY did DREAMS dirty.
